Had to get manual trans and planned on lifting. Went with the Sport and love it.

 

Wait, People purposely buy 4x2 trucks?

 

They’re cheaper, lighter, get better gas mileage and you can rip through a lot of stuff if you get a rear locker.

 

Hahaha!!! Love the smiley! Yup, we are out there . I specifically asked for a low option 4x2 TRD sport.

 

Since I do 99% of my driving on the pavement, and tend to drive it like a sports car, I love the Sport. Unless you hit a major bump, I don’t find the ride that bad. Like I said though, I’m basically a highwayman. I usually cruise around 2500-3000 rpm. Around town, definitely a Sport truck.

 

I have a 2011 TRD OR with MT, access cab and 6 ft bed. The only way to get a new truck with that combo is to buy a Sport and replace the suspension. I understand I would not have the rear locker doing this but I can live with that. The MTS/CRAWL doesn't come into the discussion since we're talking about a MT. The only part I'm not clear on are the rear leaf springs. Are they the same between the OR and Sport assuming same cab/bed combo?
It sounds like when I go this route there are plenty OR owners who would want to trade the hood scoop. Maybe even a market for the Sport shocks when I replace with Bilstein 5100s?
BTW, last year I replaced my tired OEM Bilsteins with 5100s and what a difference. If I was buying a new OR I would still swap out the stock Bilsteins for 5100s immediately.

 

The OR Manual has the A-TRAC System in place of Crawl Control.

 

Dumb for you to say ladies truck vs man truck. When I bought mine the Sport was much cheaper. If your switching out the suspension anyway why does it matter? Crawl control is mesh. Either you know how to drive off road or you dont, nothing else is needed.

I wish Toyota would simply continue offering a TRD OR, MT, access cab with 6 foot bed and avoid all of this nonsense!

 

Get a MT LB AC Sport, mod the shit out of it and OR can't touch it. If the flares bug you that much change em out.

That is correct, the Sport does not have it. It is a head scratcher for figuring out why the dropped the ACOR MT from the US market as they still do it for Canada.
