Concord/Kannapolis/Harrisburg are decent areas. Salisbury is hit or miss. Summers can vary as far as temps & humidity.

I have some friends that live in New London. If you have any area specific questions.

Mt Pleasant would be a nice area and relatively close to your new potential job.

OOH WEE!! Welcome to town. Can’t speak to what’s it like to live outside of the city, we live in town, but I hear traffic is bad from Concord.
Shouldn’t have trouble registering your truck as long as it will pass NC inspection.

it’ll be hotter and more humid than you’re used to but you should adjust after a year or two.

URE is close but that’s about the only decent legal place close by.

How strict are they on inspections? I built a new front frame of the truck, looks like I would need to get a parking brake setup. or just build a new truck.

I live up near Concord. We like it here. Hot as balls and humid summers, but we get all 4 seasons and usually a snow or a few every year. URE is the local place to go wheeling, lots of places within a few to 6 hours (TN, KY, AL, WV) holler with any specific questions you may have.

Biggest thing would be getting this registered and past a "safety inspection". Only emissions up here in Illinois which this passes with flying colors.

There are plenty of redneck shops around that would pass that.

So did you ride a road bike on forestry roads in Pisgah?

I’ve been looking at getting a bike but I’m not totally convinced I would fully enjoy mountain biking. Riding on the road wouldn’t be bad if I can go do things like that.

Safety is easy as long as nothing is loose lights work ,wipers work, equipment appears to be in working order you are good, etc. Also most places just do a quick once over for safety and that's it not a big deal at all.

It’s a “gravel bike”. Basically a road bike but with a relaxed geometry and frame has clearance for slightly bigger tire.

if you have questions about mountain biking let me know, that’s my primary sport. TONS of trails in Charlotte

You won’t have any problems with inspection. You may not even need to worry about until the following year. I just transferred my work truck title and registration from Virginia and it doesn’t need inspection until renewal next year.

My 4runner passes easily, only issue I have had was not having a cat in the exhaust.

URE is fun for a day. Windrock in TN is worth the trip from Charlotte. And there is Gulches in SC.

There are some good parks in GA and AL too if you don't mind the drive and want to make a weekend out of it.

Anybody have an old 17" they would part with? I have a worn out 255/80R17 that I'd like to use as a spare.

I think the factory spare on my sport is a 17", but I am unsure, I have a matching spare that I use and the OEM one is still tucked under my truck your welcome to it if you want.
