If you’re not looking to go much bigger than factory, I think the 265/75R16 size is more popular and you can get a lot more variety. It’s only 5% bigger in aspect ratio, but it’s a pretty common size on other trucks.
The 265/70R16 had more limited options IMO.

Well, I have a little story for you all.

So I replaced my SPC upper ball joints at mod day. It was a pretty easy task and I put the new ones on exactly as I took the old ones off. Well, I drove home with no issues and the alignment didn't seem too far off. The truck wasn't pulling hard or tracking weird.

I dropped it off at my local Plaza Tire that Sunday for them to align it on Monday. On Monday they called me in the afternoon to let me know it was done. When I picked it up, they told me they couldn't bring the camber in spec and gave me the print out. Well, the dealership that did my frame replacement almost a year ago told me the same thing when they aligned it after they replaced the frame.

I should have known better when Toyota said they couldn't get the camber set. They told me that it was because of the heavier springs I put on my coilovers and how much preload they had for the lift. Now for a second time I got the same results for my alignment.

I hemmed and hawed over this afterI picked up my truck. The next day, I was staring at the SPC instructions, wondering how much I could adjust my caster plates to turn the ball joint in enough to bring the camber back in spec. Well low and behold it hit me, the. All joints were 180 degrees backwards. I checked when I got home and sure enough they were.

When my grame was replaced, I had the dealer do several things I hadn't had time to do. One of them was to replace my UCA bushings. The only thing I can figure is the dealer took the ball joint off the UCA when they teplaced the bushing andput them on backwards. Then I just followed suit when I replaced them.

Well, it only took about 20 minutes to flip them around. Plaza realigned my truck again the next day and it was now in spec.

Lesson learned...dealers don't always pay attention to what they do or documentation you leave them. Guess I will always be double checking anything they do, no matter how big or small. No wonder my truck was trying to eat the front tires for the past year. Before that, they had been wearing pretty well.

Tires are worn pretty bad. I'll need 4

Ah, the 75 is the magic number. I'll plug it in and keep digging

I can. Have also heard quite a bit of bad gas about balancing Falkens. Who knows....

@brs127s gotta know your dealership mechanics. Naturally, they won't own up to their mistakes .... Bleah.

Also keep in mind that Toyota doesn't control their dealerships directly, so you'd be better off going to dealership management over incompetence rather than complaining to Toyota USA.

@brs127s you recommend that plaza tires?

I need to find a good alignment shop. Any other suggestions on the west side would be great.

Yeah. That’s pricey. Firestone will do a lifetime alignment for $199. Anytime you want. Everyday if you want.
