All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Got to make this dough somehow

I got 4 to six weeks before my ADS setup gets here. Trying to round up some $ for new wheel bearings up front and a brake job so it can all be done at once.

    Shit never ends!! :bananadead:

You need new wheel bearings already? I'm still running on the original's at 160k miles. Do that brake job yourself. Even replacing all the rotors it will only take about an hour. Your rear brakes should be fine. Front end is easy AF to work on man. Socket set and a screwdriver are all you need. Maybe a hammer to tap the pins out if they're stuck but could probably use the screwdriver to do it.

Also a metal coat hanger to hang the caliper on if you're changing the rotors out.

Thanks man! I'm going to have my neighbor help me out with it.

Yep, front wheel bearings are starting to groan a little bit.

Hell if you buy the wheel bearings already assembled it's a bolt on job. No need to pay someone for that.

Finally got my truck fixed this morning. Was thinking at first it was a idler pulley bearing going out because the noise was coming from up from and I'd notice a slight hesitation when starting out from a stop. Checked the idler pulleys and they were all running straight and nothing observed of and drag on any of them at idle or with the throttle rev'ed. Then after another week driving it I noticed I was getting a vibration from 20-30 mph. Checked the driveshaft to see it a weight fell off or if there was any movement in the driveshaft, none. Figured it must be the damn carrier bearing and took it to a local shop to see if they could fix it. No joy, said they didn't have a press to get it removed and back on but recommended a powertrain and gear shop in Columbus. Gave them a call the other day and told him what I thought it was, he tells me bring it in one morning and we'll get it done and back to you the same day man. I took it in this morning, walk in and said I'm the guy that called you about the Toyota driveshaft. He says let me open and door and bring it in. He looks and says it's your front u-joint. Told him let's do all 3 of them. Those jokers had me in and out in an hour. Also noticed that not a single Toyota dealer has ever lubed the driveshaft when it's in been in for service. Zerks were dry AF and so were all the U-joints. He told me the carrier bearing feels fine and wouldn't recommend changing it out at this time. Charged me $200 and did it 10x faster than I ever could have. lol
