Finally got my truck fixed this morning. Was thinking at first it was a idler bully bearing going out because the noise was coming from up from and I'd notice a slight hesitation when starting out from a stop. Checked the idler pulleys and they were all running straight and nothing observed of and drag on any of them at idle or with the throttle rev'ed. Then after another week driving it I noticed I was getting a vibration from 20-30 mph. Checked the driveshaft to see it a weight fell off or if there was any movement in the driveshaft, none. Figured it must be the damn carrier bearing and took it to a local shop to see if they could fix it. No joy, said they didn't have a press to get it removed and back on but recommended a powertrain and gear shop in Columbus. Gave them a call the other day and told him what I thought it was, he tells me bring it in one morning and we'll get it done and back to you the same day man. I took it in this morning, walk in and said I'm the guy that called you about the Toyota driveshaft. He says let me open and door and bring it in. He looks and says it's your front u-joint. Told him let's do all 3 of them. Those jokers had me in and out in an hour. Also noticed that not a single Toyota dealer has ever lubed the driveshaft when it's in been in for service. Zerks were dry AF and so were all the U-joints. He told me the carrier bearing feels fine and wouldn't recommend changing it out at this time. Charged me $200 and did it 10x faster than I ever could have. lol

Note: No need for a press to remove carrier bearing. It will tap off once the nut inside the u-joint yolk is removed.

Yeah, I saw where someone just used a pulley puller to get it off. Figured the mechanics must use the tools most of us don't have. Haha

He said it felt fine though so I just went with the 3 U-joints for now. Now I need to get some brake pads, oil and a filter and get those changed and I'll be golden again. Also need to rotate the tires.

Holy shit! Thats a nice soldering rig! The scrubby is to remove large molten solder and the sponge removes the left over residue. You can adjust the temp much more precise than you can with your run of the mill Weller rig.

Thanks! I always wanted a nice soldering station so I said fuck it and bought one. I just don’t know the temps to set it for stuff. Everything I’ve always used were the plug it in and when it gets hot start soldering. Haha

All my previous ones were one’s from Radio Shack, a 15w and 30w. Figured with these big ass radio connectors I needed a bigger iron cause the small one’s weren’t going to get it.
