Some, I couldn't clean all the mess out. So needless to say, I have venison jerky stuck to some of my recovered bullets!

Our freezer is full of deer meat and have some left from last year. The 8 pt. I shot last Saturday, had everything I could sliced into jerky and the rest hamburger. Got about 10 packs of hamburger and a whole lot of jerky to make now. I need to get busy with that!!!

This young 8 came by the crack pile about an hour after my wife left the other morning.

The rut around here is kinda like the week before prom. The boys are getting ready but the ladies aren’t quite there yet. My wife has been everyday this week and saw a small 8 chasing this morning but he got to the field and went the other way. A friend killed a nice 10 this morning by himself making a scrape. They getting close. Next week should be right!

Went to the Tulsa Arms show this morning and picked up this Dozier fillet knife.

Got to meet the owners Bob and Daniel. It is amazing how well balanced their knives are and they fit the hand very nicely.

So I got a Nikon 3x9x40 plain crosshairs. I shot a nice buck and elk with it but still think I like the bigger 50mm rifle scopes. I also have a vortex 50mm lens that has mil dots which I think I'd like better. Think I should change or leave as is?

I don’t think you’ll be happy until you change it. I need to do the same thing, I keep putting it off.

Well right now i have her talked into hunting right now... Had an old scope that came off a rem 770 went and grabbed some cheap rings and some 55 gr sp... I also Had take the top half of the handgaurd off for the scope to fit. I got it pretty close at 25 with some fmjs and let her shoot a couple times... The first time she lined everything up and then right before she pulled the trigger she closed her eyes and turned her head... I had a good talking with her and got her to hit about 2" below (and a little right)bulls eye... Ill take it if she can do that a couple more times. (Those holes with cloth in them are sighting in shots)
