Anyone have a 2.85 pulley for sale? Would prefer the stealth look. If you know what I mean. :D

That’s what I was thinking. I’ll prob stick with the TRD for now but looking at what I can improve on. What injectors are recommended if I go big to 650’s? Is it worth going with updated square fuel rails? I know you guys had a GB awhile back.

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
    650 injectors

Fuel rail is more bling than anything for the 1GR. There were a lot of ancillaries plus the rail so I couldn’t see putting that much money into it.

Don't waste your time! Most are damaged during removal.

If you're going to the trouble of changing pulleys, install a Quick Change Pulley so you can swap pulleys with ease. (Recommend Smoothflow over Pulley Boys - no sad looking logos on the pulleys.)

I'm no expert on CA, but I'm skeptical most inspection locations would recognize the difference between a 2.85" and a Quick Change setup, which you can equip with a 2.8" - pretty sure others have had no problems with it, but I'll rely on them confirming (perhaps via PM). You MIGHT find a used 2.85" that's still serviceable but, based on what I've read, that's a longshot. Good luck!

I’m at 2.7 ......love it. Wouldn’t change unless 2.6 is proved to be as safe without any more mods then I have now. Such as still keeping my stock size belt. Which I’m sure I could by just loosening up the jfr pulley

they are very strict when i comes to smog. the smog techs ass is on the line. they can be hit with HUGE fines if something slips through and the carb catches it. they even set up "bugged cars" and run then through random shops to test them.

You are being too paranoid. Most smog shops have techs who don't know their foot from their ass nor do they have any technical knowledge of the way an engine should actually look, they go off of labels, proper connections and codes stored in the PCM. A well modded truck which does not appear to be Jerry rigged and is not screaming, "OH HEY I HAVE RED AND BLUE PULLEYS AND A RED OR BLUE SERPENTINE BELT, LOOK AT ME!!" will always get the pass. As long as you have your CARB sticker for the supercharger, and the OE intake installed in place, most smog techs have no clue what the hell a supercharger even looks like nor have never even done a smog on a vehicle equipped with one. I did a smog on one supercharged vehicle in the hundreds of smogs I did, one. And even I with all my years of experience as a mechanic was privy to what to actually look for to be able to tell if it was modded or not. Understand that in the L1, A6 and A8 classes (the classes you have to take to get smog certified and licensed) they do not teach about supercharger theory of operation or tech that goes into it because superchargers are a dying if not a niche market targeted towards very specific individuals. You will be fine.

I know this because I was a smog tech at one point in the recent years.

What’s the big deal about the intake?

The intake can modify emission components according to smog. So it has to be tested by carb to be approved and price that it does not affect emission output of the vehicle.

The OE intake cannot be replaced by any other intake in California due to the fact that it uses two filters and no other intake company is willing to pay the money nor put in a secondary filter to make it carb legal. It's a money thing really but it will definitely forces all California users with a supercharger to use the factory intake.

That’s nuts !!!!!! I’d either move away if I could or I would just own a plain jane vehicle without any modifications
