I used to install a good amount of those kenwood self amplified units, for what they are they sound damn good. MUCH better then I expected originally. Just make sure whoever is selling it has the control knob that comes with it or you wont be able to get maximum performance out of it.

Def go with the JL instead. You'd be fine using the 4 chan amp till you can get a mono chan amp for your sub.

The wires are easily ran through the existing grommet by the drivers side firewall. There is a bundle of wires that goes in there already you should be able to easily get to. Fuse it at the battery and then run the wire through that spot under the driver's door sill. There is a nice little wire area with snaps under there that will keep it in line. You'll see what I mean when you get under there. It has a ton of room and is really convenient.

Thanks bud, I put the wire through but I could not get it in the hole with the other bunch of wires. I had to push the rubber seal over to get the power through on the sides. Is this what you meant?

Negative ghost rider. The grommet is there to keep the wires from rubbing on the sharp edge of the metal so they don't short out. You want the wires to go THROUGH the grommet.

Grab a pair of scissors, shut them, stick them through the rubber grommet where it's thin, open the scissors a little and pull them out. That should make a slit you can stick the wire through.

Damn, thought I had it. I did get all the rca's through the center console last night so it wasn't a complete waste. Mos Def, gonna finish this today with the help of you TW's.

Honestly I wanted a professional system in mine but after getting the Boss Bass 1500 I've been nothing but impressed by it. It sounds awesome and almost floods the stock speakers. I plan on upgrading the stock speakers soon and I think it il be perfect.

^The boss unit is actually pretty good I'll admit. I heard it in a friends Taco and thought it was decent for what it was. I'd never give it the thumbs up over a real sub system but damn it hits for an underseat setup!

thanks for the help everyone, now I have it hooked up but there is only treble coming through the sub, anybody have any thoughts on that? Everything is on and wires are ran ect. but I'm not sure if I have the speaker wires wired on the 4 channel right. Remember I'm just hooking up the sub and not anything else to the amp.:confused::confused:

I answered your PM. You probably have the crossover on the amp set to HP instead of LP. Keep it around 80hz.

You are right sir. That eleminated the treble from the speakers. The problem now is it is just too quiet. Is is possible this amp [IMG] an alpine mrp 240 is just to small this jl12.

NEW * I got it goin last night. And after listening to it this morning on the way to work, the sq is not bad actually. I had to get my connections good, and I tinkered with the settings on the amp. Much better. It even rattles a bit, if you want it too. It could get dangerous when I get a 2 channel amp for the sub.
