2006 Tacoma PreRunner, 6X5.5" wheel bolt pattern, hub centric wheels place the load on the hubs instead of the lug studs, lug stud size M12X1.50 and described to me as "short", Tacoma hub diameter 106mm, stock lug nut style is shank, 3" front lift

JBA high caster tubular UCA's, require 4.50" backspace

Existing wheels not on truck yet, 17"X8.5", 6X5.5" wheel bolt pattern, hub diameter 106.1mm, 0 offset/4.75" backspace

The combination will require 0.250" (minimum) wheel spacers. I'd like the wheel spacers to keep the wheels hub centric and as thin as possible. I'd like to have the lug nuts on a acceptable depth on the lug studs, I'm assuming a depth of 1.50cm (stud size M12X1.50) is the minimum acceptable depth but I do not know.

What additional parts (wheel spacers, lug studs/nuts, hub centric rings) are required to make this combination successfully work together?

Do only the fronts require wheel spacers or do both the front and rear require wheel spacers? (If spacers are on the front only does it create drivability problems?)

Does anyone know how far the hub centric portion of the hubs stick out?

    Thank you!

You’ll will be hard pressed to find a 1/4 hub centric spacer.

Can a .0250" spacer, hub centric ring, and extended lug studs/nuts all work together/fit?

I don't have a clue, are the lug studs replaceable for longer versions?

Only use a bolt on type spacer that comes with studs pressed in to the spacer and even then I personally am not a big fan of wheel spacer but that’s me. Imo I would not use the above set up you mentioned.

Down the road to run the 35s you’ll need even less back space to clear the jba’s and I assume you ready to cut up stuff to make the 35s fit with only 3” of lift.

Less backspace? Uh oh. Lol. Do you have any idea how much less than the 4.75" the wheels have now? I'm definitely going to go with 35's eventually.

I don't have any problems cutting up a vehicle.

And thank you for the replies!

With jbas you gonna need to be about 4” backspace to clear the 35s, they do make a 35x10.50 but you not sure if it’s for a 17” wheel.

They do make them. Kenda makes a 35/10.50R17 and Super Swamper makes a 35/10.00R17. I am planning on going with the Kenda.

Now I'm considering selling what I have and buying the tire I want and the wheel with the correct offset for that tire.

The wife is going to have a fit. I have to devise a plan. I need to wow her and then SURPRISE! Jk lol

Stock TRD OR tire is 265mm wide and stock wheel is +32mm offset. With 0mm offset wheels, the centerline of the tire is already moved out by 32mm. You shouldn't need wheel spacers for this.

I appreciate the reply because it makes me double check things. The wheels are 17X8.5 with a 4.75" backspace. JBA recommends a 4.30" backspace with that wheel and tire combination. That's almost a 1/2" difference.

I decided it's just not feasible right now to get a new set of wheels with a more appropriate wheel backspace with or without the 35's.

I will run what I have with a hub centric wheel spacer. I think I saw them in 1 1/2" and 2". Any recommendations on brand?

Yeah just saw it. Looks like only 33" and larger tires have clearance issues.
If your wheels have pockets between the lug holes, you can get 0.5" or 0.75" spacers from Bora. (You can order 0.25" thick spacers but I don't think they'll fit.)

I've actually used this brand of wheel spacer before once, but I can't seem to recall what vehicle it was for. There's 6 hours left on a 20-50% off sale with an additional 10% off when using their discount code that's displayed at the top of their site. Free shipping. I did find less expensive sets and pairs on eBay. That's for 4 of them. I remember being happy with my previous set so I just "did it".. I just wish I could remember what I used them on.

Beware the spacer causes the tire to steer over a wider arc. Be ready to trim more fender plastic to fit 33s, maybe a cab mount chop since you chose "high caster" UCAs. But one thing at a time. First make sure the UCA doesn't puncture the tire sidewall...

@LAMCKMA007 Everything about your OP was very well thought out and right on track, except the 1.50 part. The 1.50 part of the lug stud size is the thread pitch. That's 1.50mm from 1 thread to the next.
