I'm not a fan of worm clamps either. I've seen too many problems from them breaking down or damaging a hose. The only type that have used with piece of mind are the stainless shielded type that are used on aircraft.

 

Grass Valley is near a ton of awesome trails in the Sierra. Less than 2 hrs from the Rubicon and that whole area

 

If I lived in California and was considering moving it damn sure wouldn’t be in state

 

I have those too, they're typically specd out for silicone hoses to keep them from wearing and bunching up. You can buy em by the 10s for cheap on RockAuto

 

The CA you are thinking of is world's apart from probably 3/4 of the rest of the state, I'll just leave it at that.

To your point though, Grass Valley is right in the heart of the area where they expect there to be power outages yearly every fire season for the next decade and I don't want any of that nonsense.
