This thread was a big reason I became a 4 cat household when Rex showed up on the back porch. It’s only crazy during feeding time haha!

That was 3 of our own and 12 fosters/visitors ago

 

3 was my limit but this guys backstory really got to me and he’s orange so now we’ve got 3 orange boys.

 

Like a team of oompa loompa's lol

 

Ollie, Harry, and Marty... they’ll be like the three musketeers... Hopefully

 

We were at 5 when we moved into the new house. My wife then got involved with a local rescue, and it's exploded from there.

I love furballs, but it has gotten out of hand.... if we can back to single digits I'll be happy.

 

If we had the time we’d do the rescue thing. I’ve always loved cats & we have the space but not the time to dedicate to it. Perhaps when I retire?

 

Yeah, between fostering, cleaning cages, and rescues it keeps my wife pretty busy.

It is rewarding though, when they go to their forever homes.

This was the fullest our home got.
Dog and two cats have since passed.
One feral cat adopted us.
Capped at 4. Three are 14+. The formerly-feral might be 4. As they move on up, we want to try it with a pet for a while so we can travel freely.

 

Follow up to the cats on the counter conversation.....ours don’t go on the kitchen counter.

Or at least they never have before we got the rescue kitty two or so months ago. I left my lunch box on the counter, open so it could air out some and low and behold....

 

Prolly been doin it all along and finally got caught in the act. No way you can get mad at that- too dang cute!

 

What a cute little guy! I know that looks can be deceiving though... congrats on the new addition to the family. I sure love kittens except when they sink their claws into my foot in the middle of the night.

 

I am very happy at the moment. We have had a small rat problem around here because of the palm trees in front.
The squirrels, the raccoons also come to eat the fruit from the tree and we also feed them when they are around. We don't leave food out unattended. We also have a couple of cats running around in the neighborhood. One all black and one black and white. The tuxedo kitty is very active and I see him quite a bit outside running around. The all black one I don't see very often.
Tonight Tux came trotting into the court yard and ran over by my barbecue/ alcove and then disappeared. I stood there for a few minutes in the kitchen window watching, I didn't hear anything more and focused my attention elsewhere. That's when I heard a loud thud then a bunch of squeaking. Tux then reappeared in the courtyard and trotted out the same way he came with that squeaking coming from his mouth the whole way.
I got the first rat with the bb gun after tux trapped it in there a few weeks ago.
I am really loving that kitty.
