    Hmmm.. that's where the problem is.. So i got an email saying it shipped, but when i got to their website to check the status, i enter the order # and my email and it just keeps going blank and making me type it again. Never got a tracking #. Guess i will just sit tight for a while

    Will do, i ended up going with the fixed .5v unit as well. Hoping it does the job. Just noticed some corrosion on my 31M northstar on the positive terminal. Now im wondering when this things gonna crap out on me

    Good idea, may swing by vato zone and have them check it out. Not too worried as i have an extra battery sitting at home, but that does make me a little curious

    Such corrosion is in most cases due to leakage around the terminal. Take it back to where you bought it. Should be covered under the warranty.

    If I were to do it again, I'd buy the 0.5v if that makes you guys feel better. I bought both because I wanted to test them for the optimal configuration.

    I just put a NorthStar 24F in my 3rd gen. The NorthStar website "battery finder" recommended the 27F for my truck. That seems weird if there is no charging solution yet, doesn't it?
    What is current best recommendation to maintain these batteries for a 3rd gen?

    I’d read about one of those, but they seem a little on the light end of dedicated tenders. Maybe it’s just me.

    Maybe Toyota shouldn’t have removed the fuse to charge the damn battery, either.

    Not sure that's an accurate characterization. Can you point to examples?

    My (similar) CTEK 7002 has served me well (and uneventfully) for years. I know countless other performance car enthusiasts who rely on similar devices to maintain their cars' batteries through the long, cold winter months. I have yet to meet anyone who, when using the devices as designed, has had a bad experience.

    I can raise your anecdotes with my own. I know what I trust, and it’s not over side of your car battery tenders. Using them to jump a dead battery may be fine, but I’d feel much safer using something made to charge batteries safely.

    I would bet the difference is only the technology. Newer, smaller solid state circuits vs big old transformer based technology. Asking which one is going to burn your house down is probably like asking which truck is going to break down sooner, a Furd or a Chevy.. :rofl:

    Oh and the fact that Noco's are also IP65 waterproof rated is kinda cool
