for this reason I wear no jewelry and when messing with electric/battery powered vehicles I isolate the power as a rule.
I’ve seen chains and other tools welded and vaporized. Tools don’t go anywhere near the battery top.

Industrial batteries are no joke, heavy (the ones pictured are 1700lbs each) and even when “weak” can still pack a wallop that’ll burn you.
Watched a guy slam the hood down on the cables one morning, he wasn’t paying attention. BURNED the hood edge away and blew the tops out of 6 of the 18cells (36vdc battery) before anyone was able to raise the hood again. $7000 mistake

Well doesn’t that suck
4 years ago I did head gaskets on my 3rd gen 4Runner
Changed up from the graphite composite it came with to MLS (multi layer steel) that the newer 3.4 used.
One problem, the block surface wasn’t prepped with a fine enough finish (that’s a machine shop job, engine out and disassembled, time and cost prohibitive)
Well it’s come back to haunt me.
Compression into cooling system, it’s not burning coolant but it is pushing coolant out in some places.
Looks like I get to do it again, apparently there are gaskets available to battle not having the block machined properly.

The head was machined nice, the block was cleaned with scotch bite pads
Made it 50k miles
