URD 7th injector kit

So this is a separate unit that could be used with a methonal setup?
How hard is it to install.
Any writeups.

 

This is exactly what I need to do. The damn software for the 7th injector is so old though that I need to get an older Windows laptop somehow to do it with. But I get bad pinging in closed loop still, open loop I'm totally fine with the 7th but under 2500 RPMs at 1 - 3 PSI I get pinging bad especially if it's hot outside.

I think I'm finally motivated enough to track down a shitty old laptop so I can finally do this

I should actually be able to do it with my Mac laptop by running an older version of windows on it, a fellow member gave me the download link for it awhile back I just have to figure it out.

 

Yes. No reason for it though if you have a good AFR over your entire boost range and no ping.

it’s the URD AFR calibrator. With the 7th it’s built in but not user programmable. You get 13.5AFR in closed loop when you set it to come on.

 

Can you set it lower for the option kit?

 

I have no pinging and runs fantastic, but when in closed loop with boost the AFR is more lean, that’s all

 

With the 7th you can set it to turn on at any psi. With the AFR cal you have a map that allows you to add fuel anywhere in boost. But there is a limit. Supposedly it’s below 12.8 then you may get a light which is why 13.5AFR was chosen for the 7th.

 

Well the problem with that is that close loop comes on at different times and different boost.
It’s not consistent depending if it’s luging or high rpms.
But it should still help? The transition from closed to open loop?

 

It shouldn’t be an issue. You’ll have a map based on boost and RPM. Add fuel where you want it.

 

Have you installed one?,
I could not find an install on this item or how or where it’s connected.
6 wires I think

 

One wire is power
One is ground
One is tach
One is for AFR
Don’t use the rest.

 

but since you’re pre AFR and dual cat you need a different one. It’s on URDs website I just forgot what it’s called.

I’m single cat setup, There’s a different 02 model for the 1997 and the 2000 forwards I think

To richen up the closed loop section when Boost starts in closed loop
Not the AFR calibrator

 

Then that unit probably intercepts instead of taps. So power, ground, tach, unit wire to o2, unit wire to o2 ECU pin.
