    Manual Transmission Specific:
Single Torque Conversion table for Throttle -

The Manual Transmission version of this truck still has "torque" (target demand) tables for the transmission and each gear. Thanks Toyota! Anyways we have found a way to normalize and create a single target table for every gear, which creates rock solid reliable throttle control on the MT. Unfortunately a "copy paste" scenario is not possible with these tables so we had to develop a creative way of interpolation and multiplication on our single table for each gear. (which we cannot discuss our code secrets here :) )"

Alright I've read as many pages as possible before I go crazy and I still have a couple questions before I purchase the tune.

    2019 MT
    1) where/how do I find my ECU code i.e 04B40 or 04B41)
    2) Is the flash manager the only thing I need installed?
    3) when i purchase the flash kit will all the different variations of the tune (FOB 87 91 ect) come with it?

Any other quick bits of information that anyone has to resurface for us Newbies just getting into it would be helpful for i'm sure more than just me.

    Thanks!

You will have all the information you need once you get the kit. Try watching an install video of the tune and you’ll have your answers

    1) First time (or any time really) you can see all the current data, including that ECU Version. The flash utility IDENTIFY button shows this data. Just copy and paste it to save it.
    2) Yes, er....well read the details AND watch the video. There are utilities inside the flash manager. And of course you need to download and install/save the tunes on your desktop as it's a pain if you save then in some silly windows folder and only have an asinine touch pad while sitting in the truck.
    3) Yes of course. You are paying $700. Damn skippy you get the tunes. People would be pissed if not. Most all by a huge margin are happy....I would think.

Yeah man Print all the instructions NOW then watch the video and write notes on the printed stuff. For me the interface step fought with me a bit

The guys are trying to be helpful but a little vague, let me try and clear that up.

    1) where/how do I find my ECU code i.e 04B40 or 04B41)

You can hook up a generic scan tool and use it to identify your ECU version, you do not need to identify it before purchasing the tune kit.
When you get the tune kit,you will need to identify the ecu version to select the specific/correct tune for your truck and you use the flash manager software to do this.

    2) Is the flash manager the only thing I need installed?

Things may have changed with the new kits but in the past you also had to install the drivers for the cable and OBD II adapter. Very easy to do and you do this with the flash manager program IIRC. I am a dongle user so I also had to install drivers for the dongle.

    3) when i purchase the flash kit will all the different variations of the tune (FOB 87 91 ect) come with it?

Yes once you have purchased the tune kit all available variations of the tune currently available will be options, but you will only be able to flash the tune options compatible with your ECU version.

I hope this clears it up

Solid answers. Didn't know you could see the ECU version with a generic scan tool! (good stuff) I have one still in the package!!

Yeah my vagueness is just due to trying to pull it from my 61.5 yo memory. I apologize. :D

Also posted in the Dev thread...
@OVTune I assume you will have dump tube versions of all the 2.0 tunes? Specifically a catless, single TQ map, FOB for the M/T...

I am hoping that at some point he can do a tune for a completely catless system, ie. URD cat delete Y pipe + OVTune catless dump tubes. I know a can't be the only one with this setup...

So as I enter the 4th fill up since tune I have started to note something and it involves ambient air temperature. Anecdotal 100%

The truck is much smoother and more powerful when cold outside and truck warmed up

    2019 1.05 91 octane FOB

    Explanation?

Engines always run better in cold weather. air is denser.

I did not notice it to this degree with stock tune but I believe you are basically correct.

The stock tune is not optimized to this level.

The weird mind game for me is how it reacts to days with big temp swings over the previous drive. It almost feels like there is some memory of it. Or, my butt dyno is faulty.

If I'm not mistaken, the ECU does store info ref the previous drive cycle.. I think I saw a PID that references this..
