On that note, maybe I just did it wrong.... but the slipper pads don’t seem to be sticky on one side, putting the slipper together was a PITA.

No, they don’t stick, I should have added a dab of glue from the start. I know mine were and are lined up, the plastic spacer just doesn’t have the force to hold it and its small. I tried some washers for now, going to test it tomorrow. I tried to order a slipper eliminator from that JECracing place, but they are a small company and there checkout isn’t working.

NorCal Hobbies in San Jose not only sells stuff but they have a very active racing scene. Road Races and dirt. I happened on the road today. I rarely remember they’re happening. The slow cars were 14s and the fast guys, 11. I could hardly keep up. Yard sales on the back stretch could last half the length.

Have you seen anyone else making upgrades for this thing? The crow RC makes some portal weights but doesn’t ship to USA. Another guy, Greg makes a upper link riser for the rear axle. I guess it fixes the angle making it so the front doesn’t lift when the rear wheels bind.
I’m trying to find some upgrades for this dang thing. Lol

I installed the supershafty aluminum servo mount, it’s probably the highest quality thing available now. Ive seen the link riser and the flat skid but they are 3d printed, I’ll wait for a delrin skid. Intheworks sells some link options, brass, titanium, etc. I’m sure some brass and aluminum portal covers are coming.

Don't drive my 2wd slash much, so I decided to turn it into a dedicate snow rig. Now I need it to snow again so I can try it out!

You may wanna come up with something to cover the insides of the front end. Seems like it’d pack off with snow quite easily.

Yeah. I'm thinking of getting an untrimmed body so I can keep most of the wheel cutout intact and then figure out a better skid option up front. Something like this but only cut out enough upfront to allow articulation:

Many of the scale crawler guy have used Gladware bowls and such as that to make fender liners. Paint trays for rollers, whip cream bowls, etc.

Here’s one from a few days ago. Waiting on similar wheels with less offset. Wanting to run these tires but couldn’t find a good foam. Asked the guys at CrawlerInnovations and he said the tires are junk and find something else. This is likely true, but I’m running them for now nonetheless. Found a foam they make and no one had but them. I think he sent them ground freight. LOL. Solid Double Deuce comp cut. Ima let the lugs do the work.

I ran short on paint choices in my box. Doesn’t help I’m colorblind AF. I gotta get my kids to match paint for me when I have shades of the same color. Working on a rear panel right now actually and hoping it’s the same blue to be honest. I painted the fuel cell red and all the paint pooled and looked like it was overly powder coated. So it’s soaking in a cup of brake fluid and I’ll try some non polycarbonate paint next time.

Mine did like that. I ended up with 4-5 coats looking the same. Couldn’t make out the faux nuts anymore. I may just leave it off actually.

These are the RPM Revolver wheels in ‘Narrow’. Glue on wheels but solid as can be. Break one of these and win a trophy.

Ok so it didn’t stop I ordered some bent links from intheworks and a rear link riser from shapeways. Didn’t order a flat skid yet, I’m waiting for a delrin flat skid. For now, I lowered the front links to the lowest setting and going to try that out. Also have some desert lizard shocks laying around, might try those. And i have some super soft purple springs to try, maybe with the pen spring mod?
that looks awesome to me at least in the picture. It looks weathered.
What did you make your body panels out of? I was thinking about a rearpanel, but I’m not trying to add any weight, but I don’t like the gas tank gap when looking from the side.

I tried the pen spring mod, it made for way to stiff of a ride. So while I was at scale mountain this weekend, I picked up some Boom racing 100mm shocks to use as a droop setup. All I had on hand was 45wt, so I'm going to try 15wt and see how I like them. The only complaint I have so far is that I lost some travel.
