They didn’t fulfill those orders? Not gonna lie, I kicked myself for days when I saw them on the 40th sale.

The big hesitation I see with 1st gen guys and these wheels is backspacing. My stock wheels had 4.15” backspace. These have 4.59”. It’s less than half inch... My tires rub frame at full lock but they’re 285s. I bet if I got a skinny 33 I wouldn’t have a problem.

The backspace shouldn't be the drawback. The downside is width. They’re 7” wide.

Got around to installing the new caddy horns I got from @BartMaster1234. He makes a killer product. I was impressed with the wiring harness.

Had to get creative with the mounting to fit them all. They are bigger than I was expecting.

Hopefully they don't block too much airflow from my radiator. I think it turned out good though. Stoked with the sound.

they didn’t fulfill my order on those wheels because their website gave me too much of a discount.

the backspacing is fine for me, I’m running 255’s.

Finally managed to put together a full set of 01-04 fender flares. Got them all installed yesterday after doing the headlights. Better coverage over the tires than the earlier ones, even with the garage door seal extensions I had. And I like the look better too.

So I had a shop change out the plugs and wires after almost left stranded in Tucson. Drove the 04 down just to put some miles on it and found out that a pack rat was nice enough to chew up the wires. $229 later new plus, wires and a truck that runs smooth as can be :). Would have preferred to have done the work myself but changing plugs, wires with no tools wearing a suit wasn’t the way I wanted my day to end up hehe
Shop was found by accident, they had me in and out in less than an hour and seriously didn’t realize how badly the truck needed a tune up. Not bad though as they looked like the original wires and they went 196k...

Yeah, what @Phessor said! My friend with a 2000 was just asking if they could replace their thin chrome strips with the flares on my 2003. I said no because I thought the 2001-2004 has a bunch of holes that the earlier 1st gens don't have to attach/hold the newer flares on.

Got the fronts a while ago and the rears just this last week from @mechanicjon. Install was the same as the originals, I didn't use the fender clips at all, just bolted them on. They are solid, no pull away from the body at all.

The 01-04 use the same holes in the fender well that the earlier ones do. They do have the extra holes on the sides of the fenders and bed but I didn't drill or use those mount points at all.

Sanded, primed, painted, and then coated the bed with Rustoleum Truck Bed Liner. I used a big thick texture paint roller to apply the material to the bed.

Acetone to clean the surface before priming.

Self Etching Primer for bare metal areas and the bed floor after sanding. I used this on my frame restoration project.

    upload_2019-11-10_5-35-51.jpg

I sprayed the bed sides with this paint to get into areas where I knew the the bed liner paint would not go. This paint is very thin and likes to run. The temperature was in the 50s so it might have been too cool for painting. I used the foam brushes to fix the runs. I'm not crazy about it, but it did the job.

I used about 10 foam brushes during the painting and coating process.

Great for touchups and fixing runs.

    upload_2019-11-10_5-31-45.jpg

Used spray on the areas where the roller cannot reach.

Note this is the ORIGINAL FORMULA that is NOT like the plastic coating used in the Professional version.

A number of reviews about peeling plastic kept me from using the PRO formula.

Used it to haul Igor's stock wheels to the store and put some new Cooper m+s winter tires on them with studs. Then swapped them on the daily. Bring it on winter. Already have had some sketchy winter drives.
