That sounds like a pretty awesome trip and hopefully all is good to go before you head out. I'm trying to go out on a 3 day excursion next week but I have major OCD and this noise is killing me man.

I wheeled for 7 hours last weekend in NH with it clunking every once and while, it was a big event I had to photograph so I just went with it and everything was fine. There is a trip coming up in NY 4 hours away that I may or may not decide to do if I can't figure it out. I'm more worried about the needle bearing and my tie rod end needs to get swapped because a branch caught the boot and ripped it.

    I would check, in order:

    - LCA mounting bolt torque.
    - Lower uniball adapter bolt torque (different LT kits set this up different ways, I have had issues with this bolt coming loose and causing issues. I finally solved the issues by going to aircraft grade bolts and a castle nut with a retaining pin).
    - UCA mounting bolt torque.
    - UCA uniball to spindle bolt torque.
    - Inspect tie rods for play.
    - Inspect wheel bearings, ensure they are mounted tightly to the spindle.
    - Steering rack bushings/bolts (PITA to get at)

I've inspected everything except the LCA torque and the rack bushings but will be doing so tonight. Thanks for the input

I rip boots like they are going out of style. Was it an inner or outer boot?

My mistake, I couldn't remember the exact amount. I just remember having to go higher than factory. I might be thinking of the torque figures on my other vehicle. Popping noise definitely reminds me of the lower control arm bushings though.

    @JaCado @azzwethinkweiz @HAVOC @Hyland33 @Mxpatriot

Thanks for all the input fellas, after getting home I found out what the issue was and it almost makes me mad to even mention it. The LCA bolts were not torqued to spec when aligned, they were torqued to 85 ft lbs when they should have been at 100. Something that simple has been driving me nuts for a week. Problem solved and definitely having a talk with the shop which did the alignment. Again thanks for all the input everyone!

I’m having the same thing, I think I found a video on YouTube and it sounds exactly like mine. Guy started shaking his brake pads and they were clunking inside the calipers. I’m doing a full brake job this week on it at work. I’ll try to get back on here and give an update.

Ive experienced the same issue off and on since I put a TRD pro suspension on my base model. It seems to only pop on the drive side when its either raining or cold outside and only when going over bumps or any amount of flexing is being done. Its been aligned, LCA bolts are good. IDK whats causing it.

Just did my rotors and pads, no more clunk sound.... worth a look if anyone has a similar issue. This has been driving me crazy......:oldglory:

I have that noise, the pads shift when you hit the brakes for the first time moving forward or backwards. The new clunk I’m having definitely seems suspension related. Happens at low speed when hitting a bump or hole. I checked some things real quick the other day and everything seemed tight. I have time this weekend to check everything else.

@HAVOC looking at that pic you posted, one of the bolts is labeled as toe adjustment.
I always thought toe was adjusted with the tie rods.

Strange. The lower control arm bolts adjust camber and caster. Don't know why they list it as toe.
