Do they still make the old mercury switches? I always thought those would be great for this application.

The switch setup you used is probabaly much more reliable. Mercury (or tilt) switches have been around a while, but you have to play with them a bit to get the perfect setup.
They still sell them though https://www.parts-express.com/mercu...3yMRuQlIskYRl5hRQEtWyGfh6rt7S0RxoCoKUQAvD_BwE

The lights would be flickering on/off as your truck is rattled by road bumps. The mercury scatters upon shock or impacts. I install shock sensors for coin boxes that are filled with mercury and when people bang on them the mercury scatters and trips the alarm.

Pulled the seats & center console to give it a good cleaning. Lots of soda spills and animal hair from the PO. Side bolster on driver side seat is shot, was able to source one from a '07 DC at a local PAP, different cloth but I bought brand new Bartact covers I found on OfferUp awhile ago. Going to go rent a rugdoctor now.

I think the new ones use ball bearings as contacts, but same issue. I'll have to see if there is any solid state alternative.

At least it wasnt the 3.5. Those tbelts are a pain. Especially when they're transverse mounted

When you take it apart it's dead in time but going back together it's always "half a tooth" off in either direction

Interesting... i was talked into these by toytec over the Jba’s i had, and returned the jbas.
Is the clunk with the new totally forged ones or the previous ones that were a little cheaper price wise and they had different bushings and look altogether?

    Good and bad today.

    Good: got my full sized
spare squeezed up under the bed after some gentle massaging with a big fucking hammer.

    1109191547.jpg
(Wide angle so it looks funny but it's level)

    Bit stuffed...

    1109191547_HDR.jpg

Bad news: the alternator I had put in back in March of last year shit the bed on me. Going to be exercising the warranty on it from my mechanic.

So making the lady friend pick ME up for the date tonight, LOL!
