Those aftermarket cabs are kinda cool...use to see them more as a kid. I wonder how they modified the frame though to extend the length...just cut it and weld a new piece in?

Aside from what looks like a frontal-accident, the whole thing looks to be in great shape.

 

Id like to have one of those some day but I don't think that early IFS 4x4 system was very good for wheeling...I could be wrong but don't think there's much aftermarket support nor was it very strong. Be a fun truck to own just in stock form though

Now, an older <85 Toyota with a solid axle wound be great

 

that is what they do to badly rusty frames

is there any known literature as to why this paint used is near total garbage to chemicals
i have yet to find info to educate myself and spread the words

Yeah no thanks lol. I do love the looks of pre Tacoma 90s pickups and would love a stock one for fun, but I'd leave it stock. An older one with a solid axle would be fun to mod though

Mmmm custom cab, Toyota dealers used to order them like that.... Just like the original Trekker the cab extension was made by Winnebago. They're neato and well made

The spray is okay but it's messy and if your connection is trash it's an insulator that makes it worse.

The best way to prevent corrosion, don't buy a wet cell, and if you have a wet cell don't deep cycle it.
