I’m no expert on auto tranny with bigger wheels and tires. One would may say the gearing will be off and really with an exclamation mark with a S/C. Would that be accurate to say?

I really think it’s a transmission and timing tune thing. It should drop out of overdrive and 4th with much less load than it does now.

How did the truck perform with other pulleys? Did you have a 2.2/2.1 and stock? Did the tranny react different to each one?

Got a 172 degree thermostat Stant Superstat installed today for the supercharger. Helps Keep my motor at 180 degrees or so.
A good thermostat for a supercharged vehicle can make a nice difference if the radiator can keep the temperature lowered even by 5 or 10 degrees less. We will see how it does going forwards. I had another 170 stat that went out on me after 6 months. So hopefully I will have a better review on this one. The quality specs look very impressive and has a jigger valve too

Just passing some good information hopefully on a better item.
    Some info below.

Unlike conventional thermostats that continually open and close to achieve the proper operating temperature and flood the engine with coolant, the Stant SuperStat® thermostat has a unique v-notch, non-linear design that reduces cycling by precisely metering the amount of coolant needed to maintain proper operating temperature.

The v-notch provides a small initial flow. As the engine heats up, the v-notch gradually opens wider, metering coolant into the system until the desired engine temperature is reached.

Stant's SuperStat® uses a high flow venturi for maximum cooling capacity during high temperature, high load operation and employs a unique Weir Valve® for precise flow metering during cold weather, light load operation to ensure stable temperature control under all conditions.

The high strength stainless steel flange is burnished to a bright finish for additional stress relief and added corrosion resistance.

The Stant SuperStat® thermostat is also thicker than most competitor thermostats and our standard reverse poppet thermostat for added strength and longer life.

The power element of SuperStat® is comparable to those used in heavy-duty trucks. Its actuator piston is larger in diameter than the standard thermostat and competitive product. This larger piston delivers 1 1/2 times the power of our standard thermostat and almost 2 1/2 times as much power as the competition for enhanced durability and longer life.

The opening spring of the Stant SuperStat® thermostat is designed with a load that is 50% stronger than our standard reverse poppet thermostat. This heavy-duty spring helps return the thermostat to the closed position and prevent cold running, even under the most adverse conditions. Features and Benefits

Upgrades over OE equivalent thermostats offer more efficient temperature control resulting in faster warm-ups, better fuel economy, and longer engine life.

wow. I’m up for a coolant swap soon and would make sense to put a new stat. I was thinking TRD but this is cool. Would a stat really do anything to a stock radiator?

The results would vary just depending on the health of your cooling system and winter and summer will probably vary, but any drop in temperature also means a drop in supercharger temperature too which is a win win situation.

Cool. Does anyone know where to find the TRD stat or a part number. I’m having some trouble finding it.

I believe the TRD Thermostat is just a repacked item rated at 160 degrees which I think is too low

I’m reading on straight water injection. Apparently used on BMWs M4 model and supercharged vehicles and Jets. Does well to lower temps. I have the kit. I’m going for it. Just gotta figure out when to spray. It’s a summer time deal unless I can figure something to not make it freeze without using alcohol. I don’t need the extra fuel.

I can see myself doing an ice water mix LOL.

you can find charts online. I’m using 25% which is good at like -5/10 degrees.

    Washer fluid is just 45% meth/water. I think that’s good to -25.

-20 below is around 30 percent methonal or so for wiper fluid but the problem is the wiper fluid is full of minerals.

It’s not distilled and if you use a #1 nozzel it will plug up easily.

The wiper fluid actually comes right out of the river and is filtered.

Also, with a 50/50 mix and a 400ML nozzle (DO3) I was getting belt slip and my STFTs were dropping too much for my taste, not sure how big of a deal that really is.

That’s why I went with a 100ML (DO1) and 25% meth. I start spraying at 3PSI because that’s when I set up the 7th to enrich the mixture.

just so everyone knows methanol vapors are dangerous. You should also avoid skin contact. Ingesting even a small amount can kill or make you go blind permanently.

    have fun!

    You using a Gates belt?
I don’t have any slipping on my 2” pulley.
You can adjust the tension from the alternator side too if you are, FYI
