Yep, gates belt. It was probably a combination between water/meth and gas being injected creating more resistance. I’m going to leave the 7th like it is. Don’t need to rely on the water/meth for fueling.

I went from 7 PSI to 8.6. Got 22 pounds of torque and 3 horse power. It was noticeable. But not by much.

Ok, also another common reason for a belt slipping is the aftermarket pulley 2.1, 2.2 URD,is made of soft aluminum
So if your running the aftermarket pulley it’s probably made of aluminum and the center groves tend
to get worn down over time and less contact with the belt as the belt rides up on the ears. ( you can see the skid marks on the ears as the center is loosing contact because the center ridges are worn down)
You can measure the pulleys ridges outside to outside for 2.2 to see its wear or if the paint is all worn in the center usually is the first clue.

I’ve gone through half a dozen pulleys in my travels.

The two red URD pulleys are completely shot.
Then I have the steel ones that don’t wear out.

Hmm. Didn’t realize they wore that quick... looks like I’ll be having steel ones made. Or I could be that guy and have my buddy make some titanium (oh wait. I’d be broke)

I’m aware of the aluminum pulley wear. Mines is still red.

I’ve since replaced that belt and cleaned all the pulleys with water and some dish soap. I haven’t put the DO3 back on yet.

Im not too concerned about the water kit right now. I’m eager to get some 265/75s on the new wheels installed. Should be close to 18lbs lighter each.

before I do that I’m taking the rear back to stock and might sell my coilovers. Either way I’m lowering the rear by 1” and the front 1/2” so they won’t look so small.

So if something is wrong like the belt is not engaging right, would we see that on the innovate gauge psi-wise?

Yes, you would see the boost being inconsistent and slipping backwards from its peak or less boost than normal

That justifies the gauge even more. I didn’t know that. Also, if something is wrong with the supercharger internals, you would see it in the gauge too? Broken bearings or whatever.

You like the smaller tires better. You’ll move quicker and stop quicker.

Depending on what bearings go out, the front or back but usually a higher pitch sound.
    Something you definitely will notice,
Typically your good for 100-150k miles depending on what pulley u run.

Smaller pulley turns more so sooner rebuilding needed.

    Stock pulley probably 150,000
    2” pulley around 100,000

Wow @1997tacomav6 didn't know the aluminum wears that badly. Seems kind of like Aluminum compensators on AR15s, just a no-go. Damn, and pulleyboys only makes theirs out of aluminum- now I want steel. I gotta hunt down my OEM steel one and maybe go back down to that if I go twin-charged.

Picture is where the S/C plenum bolts to the lower intake. Looks like oil is seeping out between the two or it’s old.

Alright guys. S/C made the 40k intermittent whine today.

it didn’t do this at all driving all weekend.

I noticed water pooled up in the intake at the little reservoir and in the tube. I’m assuming this is from the check valve bleeding off and hitting the throttle plate with nowhere to go. Do you experience this @1997tacomav6 ?

next thing this. I suppose I need to tighten the blower down. That gasket was new about 20k miles ago.

I’m also wondering if this could be the PVC. Jon Bond performance told me you can get blow by that coats the rotors and cause some weird noises.

For now, cutting the water kit off until I can get the solenoid installed.

Cold+ hot = condensation, which will make water. That’s one answer. Maybe too much water is another answer. Maybe John has some input.

It’s most definitely not that. It’s placement of the nozzle, nozzle size, check valve, or pump pressure.

water streaming into the supercharger when I let off the throttle and getting somewhere between the rotors and bypass might be what’s making that noise I keep hearing

For me The PCV was part of it but also the Driver side valve cover vent was another culprit. Any blow by through there dumps right into your intake tube with the stock setup, and under vacuum I was coating my rotors with alot of oil. I ran that to atmosphere with some hose and a small air filter. But I am making a small catch/vent can to plumb it to to a permanent solution.

So your blower was making some weird noises intermittently but running fine most of the time otherwise?
