thanks...in general, I think 265s look too small with lifts, but that looks really good. Maybe bc it's not a full 3" that is the standard for non-Pros? How level do you sit now?

I put on a Tuff Country lift that is similar to the toytec one for the bilstien TRD Pro suspension (I ran that on my 16 4runner pro) I did a 3ALL from Icon for the rear and it feels smoother than it did from the factory. I had put 285/75/16 the 2nd day I had it and it felt super stiff.

Why buy a pro and then go with a cheap suspension lift? Doesn't make much sense.

I thought I'd post this up as it was a valid question and relates to my previous post in this thread...

I have a 2019 Tacoma PRO. I tried to mount 285/75-16 BFG KO2 on the factory pro wheels. At full lock it rubbed on the upper control arm. Tire shop said lift won’t help and they I needed to replace the wheels with the correct offset.
My question is, did you have to add wheel spacers to run that size tire on the factory wheels? If so, what did you use?

thanks in advance. Really looking forward to putting bigger tires on my pro.
      Thanks
      Nathan

Sorry I didn't see this until now... but to answer your question, I did not put in wheel spacers. I've got room between the upper control arm and the sidewall. The only suggestion I'd have is regarding the alignment. If you have too much negative camber, the tire could potentially hit the UCA. Mines' set at +.7degrees and +.3 degrees. The picture I'm attaching makes it look like its almost rubbing, but in fact there's about 1/2" of space. Also, I'm running a General Mud Grabber 285/75r16... but I thought the widths on it were the same as the KO2.

Regarding putting on wheel spacers... I'm considering it just for looks, but I have a feeling the rubbing on the inside wheel well (the mudflap) would get worse and I'd need to remove the mudflaps. Right now, when I pull into a driveway (incline)with the wheels turned at like 75% it sometimes rubs. Pushing the tire out of the wheel well more would probably make that hit all the time and need to be addressed. Otherwise I'm good for regular street driving, even at full lock. Offroad, I would take the mudflaps off obviously and probably do some heat molding to give some breathing room.

I’m looking into installing a pro fox take off set on my 2nd gen as well. What are your front hub to fender measurements?

I am rolling 255/85/16 KM2s on the TRD Pro wheels that came on the truck.

I will send you guys pics of the truck at full lock and stuffed so you can see what that looks like.

    Suspension is stock up front.

I have the .5 inch top spacer with the lock nuts. Last I checked I was at 22.5 on both sides hub to fender but I can check later today

It also says you can run a 33" tire without a body chop... I don't think that statement holds up with a negative or even zero offset wheel.

EDIT: Upon further glance it looks like it replaces the lower spring perch to a thicker one creating the effect of a coil spacer.

I'd call that a spacer lift.
I'm pretty sure you can fit 33's on a stock suspension as it is anyways if you run 255's. You can also run 285's on a stock pro, or that's my understanding anyways.

Yea I have 285s on mine I was just trying to figure out what is going on with that lift kit, it looks to be a combination of a spacer on top, a spring perch/collar replacement, and a block lift for the rear.

Here's a response to a question on his facebook page:

Just FYI for everyone, the stock TRDP springs are 600lb, 12.6" free length for 4R and 650lb 12.3" free length for taco according to a source I have familiar with OEM Fox specs. That's why you didn't gain much. You lost .3" in free length/preload but gained it back in reduced static spring compression with the 50lb/in increase in spring rate.

With that knowledge, I am installing 13" 650lb Icon springs for my skid plated, V8 GX (roughly 200lb over v6 4R).Like you said, trying not to extend the shock out into the wrong bypass zones at ride height. Will report back on my apples to oranges case.
