You have to offer yourself as tribute. Not receive. Given.

In all seriousness though I met the traveling Army band yesterday while I was replacing my wheel bearing in an Ingles parking lot.

I found pics of what I'm after on pirate4x4. They're even using the latch I want.

I think if I can improve upon my old swingout, and minimize the list of cons, I definitely can. One of my big complaints is it just wasn't an easy process to open and close it. My goal for this is to make it doable with one hand, and that latch would allow that.

I LIKE IT!!!! Jerry Cans fit in the bed anyway.

So it looks depending on your tire size that you could shift that to the left a little bit. I think they have that positioned there so that you can see the turn signal flashing from an angle off to the right. I'm only saying that because that what people say why Toyota changed the design of the OEM bed extender to a triangle instead of a rectangle.

I like this idea a lot Randall! Well done.

Bulletproof vests arent stab proof...unless you have hard plates.

    Indeed they do!

It'll be on the passenger side, and I'll certainly be putting it as far to the side as I can without blocking the taillight. This will let me make the swingout as small as I can

I'm surprised you didn't share your pic of 45 jerry cans in your bed.

I would think drivers side is better so you can look over your right shoulder for traffic on the passenger side quarter? No?

In the co-captain's defense, I misfired before the pic loaded.

with the solid sides of the softopper anyways, I never turn my head to check my blindspot. I have little blindspot mirrors for that.

Ahh, gotcha. I was looking at the Beestop on Amazon. It has side windows. It's a pretty good price for a new one too. However, I am not a fan of how it mates up to the cab. I just don't see me getting a cap now. Not until I can get a smaller single axle trailer.

But yea, I like the half swing out option. You think that could have a hinge that allows it to swing farther than 90 degrees?
