LSU did score in the 2nd half. Alabama had 1 unanswered TD, and then 2 if you count the final 85 yard TD pass...which LSU chose not to respond to because it made sense to kneel and end the game.

I'm not saying Alabama didn't do what they were supposed to, I'm saying they were only in the game per the scoreboard because of a coaches distraction, and a punt return. LSU only allowed 1 score that they did not respond to.

 

You act like Alabama struggle to get across the 50, or score at all. lol.

 

I'm not saying that at all, you're reading what I'm saying wrong.

LSU responded to every score from Alabama except 1. Say there were 2 more minutes in the game, LSU could've and probably would've easily gotten another TD as they had on almost every other drive. Now it's a 12 point win, over a team favored by 6. Because LSU was able to kneel the game away, it looked closer than it was. Alabama got out-Alabama'd by LSU.

You see the scoreboard as a 5 point loss and say it was a close game, but as ESPN pointed out...LSU never fell below a 73% chance of winning in the 2nd half...which was Alabama's "successful" half.

 

Blown coverages are part of the game. Know what that tells me? LSU’s secondary isn’t that great if they’re blowing coverage multiple times allowing for long TDs.

2nd and 26 was a blown coverage that made Bama national champions. It’s part of the game.

I dont really put much weight in what Vegas decides the spread or who favorites are. I'm not a sports bettor.

I couldn't care less that Alabama was a 6 point favorite.

I'm not going to argue or discuss if there were two more minutes in the game...because there arent. And, the argument you presented presumes Alabama would have left enough time on the clock for LSU to sustain a drive and score again.


I'll argue that Tua's two turnovers, changed the game for LSU. They smelled blood in the water and attacked accordingly. Alabama didn't shake LSU's confidence until the 3rd quarter (which was noticeable specifically with Joe Burrow. He was less accurate and made a few questionable decisions himself. He was noticeably less "Joe Burrow" for a moment.) Even after that, LSU did a good job of staying focused, sustaining drives and completing the game.

There's video of players not being ready all the time? Hurry up offenses specifically exploit that. I dont get your point. Is it somehow different because it was a DB who ended up getting exploited for not being ready and distracted by his own sideline that resulted in a score? Is that somehow different than when a team runs a hurry up and exploits defensive linemen and LBs for being out of position and bust off a 20-30 yard run?

I believe something along the lines of "LSU won by more than the scoreboard shows, and Alabama wasn't as "in" the game as the fans claim"

Alabama lost, and it still wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. Mercy you’re on a two day butt hurt bender.

 

Alabama was in the game. It’s a 1 score game with 2 minutes to go. An onside kick and another blown coverage by “dBu” means it’s a competitive game. LSU 100% outplayed Bama in the first half. Alabama outplayed lsu in the second half, in my opinion.
Just because you won one half convincingly doesn’t mean Bama was never “in the game.” Take the win, celebrate, be excited, but damn, take off the purple and gold glasses for a second and realize it wasn’t as big a blowout as it seemed in the first half.

but you talk about taking away the coach distraction, the lucky punt return, and the fact LSU kneeled a the end instead of scoring again....you can't talk about those! only take away the ones that benefit Alabama and the game was close!!! might as well have gave them the W!

The game is four quarters long. Alabama got 7 easy on a broken play to basically end the game, which universally counts as garbage points in any other game apparently.

You’re an idiot if you legitimately think LSU didn’t take that game with ease.
