Probably because LEDs won’t fit without cutting the dust cap.

Is there a dust cap that goes on the backside? Covering the electrical connector area?

Yes, have you looked at any of the photos of the lights on TacomaBeast? There’s a cap that covers the back of the bulbs on both projectors. To fit an LED bulb you’ll have to cut an access hole for the head sink and/or fan.

Even though I want these really bad I’m gonna hold off on buying them till they come with LEDs for them. I messaged them on Tacomabeast and they said they are developing an LED that will be compatible for the V1 and V2 headlight soon.

canceled the order. Didn’t like you couldn’t service anything. Didn’t like that maybe in 6 years I go to get an inspection and a high beam would fail, then I’d wouldn’t pass an inspection, have to wait to get new headlights. They have a warranty but lead time when I ordered was 6 weeks to get out and hope that day or weekend I wouldn’t be busy for a few hours to swap. Take out the old and put in new. They told me the life span of leds and yeah I get it. It’s a long time. However I’ve had plenty of leds fail, fogs, dome lights, license plate lights, reverse light fail and multiple sets. It happens but I can change those out with a new set in a day.

I love the lights, just want to be able to service quickly if I needed to.

I feel like i've missed something here, what bulbs does this come with? A lot of folks are talking about LEDs either not fitting or voiding the warranty. What about HIDs?

I need to run HIDs as an upgraded light source because LEDs won't melt the snow/ice off the lens. My fogs are DOT approved LEDs and they gunk up on the lens during the winter.

F that. I pay a membership and I’ll return it if they won’t match the price to keep the sale.

they don't come with bulbs. I'm gonna try an hid kit, i don't think you would have clearance for an led with the dust cover.

Ah, ok. I got it. The photo with the bulb connections coming from the dust covers threw me off. Please let me know how it goes with your HIDs.

I have the other style Spyder/Tacomabeast headlights and ran into the dust cap issue when trying to fit LEDs. I ordered a handful and found that these fit fine with no trimming -- I'm sure they'll fit the newer style headlight since they're from the same manufacturer:

You'll need to poke a hole in your cap if you want to use HIDs.

The low beams are not as bright as the OEM halogen bulbs in the OEM housings, but they're a big improvement over what Spyder gives you. However, the high beams are ridiculously bright. Very far, intense throw. I was contemplating a hidden light bar and now I'm not in a hurry after using these on back country roads.

Just installed mine and I love them. I have no reference to how much brighter these are to stock as my stock headlights were tinted by previous owner but running regular bulbs with these headlights is fine and bright for me.
The high beams are ridiculously bright.

Yes, slow response time from TB but these arrived super fast.
Gonna toy around with some new bulbs soon..

Has anyone installed H11 LED bulbs or HID with these headlights yet? If so, what are your perspectives?
