I never said they weren’t in it, but that they weren’t “as in it” as everyone is acting. As kakwvu said, the scoreboard doesn’t reflect how the game really was. Again, Alabama had a late 7 that LSU didn’t respond to. Take that away and it’s 12 point win. They call that trash time. Every other game people consider it pointless.

“Garbage time” scores are when the game is out of hand. Georgia almost gave up a garbage time score. Up 26-0 with a few seconds left, mizzou had the ball inside the 5. That would have been a garbage time score. With plenty of time left (2 minutes is plenty of time) in a game with no defense, is not a “garbage time” score. Geezus I thought people in this thread actually knew football.

 

The only time Bama was in that game was when they came within 5 at the end of the 3rd. I was thinking. Shit, now if they hold them to a 3 and out we might have something. LSU proceeded to pound them for the next 5-7 min and score. So yes, Bama was in the game for a a few plays I guess but LSU had that game in hand from kickoff to the last play.

I also like how Tua's limp was much more noticeable after it was clear the game was lost. LOL... Come on....

 

Guys guys... we can argue until the sun dont shine about what could coulda woulda shoulda happened. The gators COULDA scored 2 TDs in the final 2 minutes against UGA... Auburn SHOULDA stopped that 70 yard td run... we WOULDA won against LSU had we not got intercepted in the redvzone.
Bottom line...At the end of the day when the scoreboard strikes 0 the game is over.

LSU beat ALA... THE END.

 

Looking ahead, if we make it to Atlanta, I look forward to seeing how good our defense actually is against LSU’s offense. I don’t expect a UGA win, but I’d like to see if we can hold them to ~30. Lord knows that’s more than enough for them to win - our offense is god awful. Maybe the defense can score.

By this thinking, Alabama surrendered 28 points to LSU, by fumbling on the first drive (14 point swing as LSU scored on that turnover) and the interception before half (As Alabama had plenty of time to score, especially since the LSU coaches were such a distraction for their own players) which was another 14 point swing.



Alabama fucked up. There is no denying that. I'm not saying remove ALL of Alabama's mistakes and they win. I'm saying, remove ONE of those mistakes. Just one....and Alabama wins that game.


I really think Tua's fumble set the tone, LSU got a gift right there and it absolutely energized them.

I think they still make the CFP. Kirby will somehow keep UGA from getting over the hump (it’s impressive), P12 gets no love, and I don’t think a 1-loss OU gets in over a 1-loss anyone.

By most standards, Alabama doesn't deserve to be in. Would you take Alabama over Oregon, OU, or any other one loss team? If you matched em up on paper, who would you pick?

 

They typically are, that's why they have the number 1 pick. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA.

 

Oregon is the only team, but knowing how miserably bad that conference officiating is, I’d be blown away if they finished 1-loss. OU has the offense but zero defense.

so take away one of LSUs and it's a different story too, that's what we've been saying.

it's just most of Bama's (aside from the Tua Casper fumble) were forced by LSU. LSUs, were forced by LSU.

 

My argument about taking away one mistake is in regard to Alabama not being in the game.


Also, LSU kneeled for two reasons.

1. They could. All they needed was one first down.
2. It is the safest play. No risk of a random turnover.


You make it seem like LSU kneeled in mercy. It wasnt. You can tell by all of the emotion the players and coaches released.
