I can't say enough good things about the fit up with that kit. I'll never do another total chaos cam tab kit again.

 

I really like the looks of this kit. My cam tabs are bent to hell and need some attention but it looks like I will have to find a way to modify the kit or my skid plates. The sides of the BAMF skid plates add a lot of strength but I think if you only trim enough to clear like in the second picture it should be good to go and not compromise the skid plate.

I just saw that for the first time yesterday, definitely a different take on the issue and one worth considering.

 

Never knew this existed. I would have looked at it very seriously because I've been looking at how to pull the wheels forward...

 

It didn't exist until about 2 weeks ago.

 

Well it requires cutting off entire LCA mount ears so cutting the Marlin gussets wouldn’t add much more work.

 

Been thinking of upgrading my tank from a 40 gallon to an 80. Looking for the 80 now, would anyone be interested in my 40 once the 80 is set up and ready to go?

It's a pretty sweet solution, but it makes me chuckle to think of how the project started: I don't want to cut sheet metal, so let's CUT OFF suspension/frame components and make new ones. But no fender trimming!

 

I think you could just add a little more protection on the skid plate and then do the old fashioned run a bead behind the tab trick and achieve the same results.

Yeah, this is probably true. I already have the BAMF LCA skids and I think they cover 85% of what the Marlin kit would do plus I don't think they would fit with the Marlin setup either. I've already got so much damn maintenance to do to my poor truck, I need to stop adding on more projects before I even start the other ones.
