It’s early in the model year. Toyota’s web page has been glitchy lately. Come January or February the build tool will be very accurate as to what is available in your area.

We go through this dance every year.

I never said the tool is 100% accurate. It may be behind, may be they did a dealer swap so things got moved around, or it may just suck. It just shows you what it THINKS is available in your area.

The point I'm trying to make is that just because you can't build a config in the tool doesn't mean it isn't available. We get a constant stream of "I can't build make this truck config I want in the tool, does that mean Toyota doen't make them?" posts. We are coming at this from two different perspectives and expectations of the build tool.

Probably only one of 60 something unless they have upped the Pro production quotes. Great truck that would be the only configuration I would even be tempted to trade my 18 Pro in for. Random question, how tall are you?

Re: the builder tool vs the actual ability to order-

My dealer explained it has a lot to do with how quickly Toyota thinks that dealer should be able to move that particular build, whether or not there is a buyer lined up. You’re making a deal with the dealer to buy the truck, not Toyota. If that deal falls through, Toyota (and the dealer) still wants that truck sold before that dealer can order others to replace it.

Say you find a high volume dealer in a high volume market (not hard, considering the popularity of Tacoma’s), and want to place an order for your specs- guess what? They’ll have something very close at an appealing price that may be missing certain minor features.

I had a similar experience with Chevy. I wanted a particular color and had an order set up. Three weeks later I get a call that someone else’s deal for a similar truck but different color fell through. They needed to move that truck before the dealer sat on it past a month (when they start paying interest on their loan), and I made off with a significantly better deal.

    Thanks!
I'm 6'4". The seat sits noticeably lower than the manually-adjustable seats. I have plenty of room. The one think I'd ask for is about another 3-5˚ of upward rotation and another inch or so of extension on the steering wheel, but beggars can't be choosers. I can't confirm the exact number, but I think you're right on the money.

Heres the math I did, 245,000 +/- made a year with 5% being manuals leaving it around 12,250. The last posted Pro production numbers were 5,000 a year so manuals using that same logic would be 250. Divide by 3/4 colors and there you go. It took me awhile to find mine and I had to sacrifice color preference for a good deal and an MT.

Thats good information on the seat and now makes my excuses even harder. Im 6'3" and a huge reason why I went with the 18 over 19 was because of the additional headroom with no sunroof. I have been steering clear of testing the new electric seats because There is nothing wrong with by 18 and I would take a bath on trying to switch it out for a 2020 (AG is the only color I would even contemplate doing it for).

You're not getting too much more in terms of creature comfort. I would say that if it's a fiscal zero sum game OR loss, don't bite the bullet. It's really that simple. I'm glad that I held off until now; yet if I were in the same boat you are, I wouldn't jump ship. Only thing I have to say is: datgreendoe... :hattip:

The green is nice and the adds ons are as well. I think at this point my plan would be to wait and buy the last year of the 3rd gen in MT again IF they discontinue it for the 4th gen.

Does anyone have the breakdown on the model codes? I think it was posted earlier but I have no idea which page it is on at this point.

Most recent I could find was from 2018. I think that info is stale at this rate.

There is still an MT AG Pro sitting on the lot at Toyota of Scranton, PA - been there for 3 weeks. I was told it was pre-sold but the deal fell through - one of their sales people knows I'm going to be buying a Tacoma and contacted me to see if I wanted it. I'm holding off until the May/June timeframe to buy so I passed. Still there.

Well, you should. It is a beautiful truck, color and one of a small few. I have no idea why the one here hasn't sold...other than they are not generally willing to give much off MSRP and were even charging above MSRP on their Army Green Tundra...which they offered me, too. I'm hoping that I can still snag an Army Green next spring.

My wing ding math and Toyota's Heijunka system tells me there will still be availability on them come the spring. I don't know why, but I just can't bring myself to love the Tundra...

Me neither. I never mentioned that I wanted one - always told them I would be looking for a new Tacoma. They've been after me to trade my 2004 Tacoma with just over 40k miles. I may have a source for an AG Pro in the spring..but if not I'll go with another color. As a retired Army Colonel, though, that AG just screams at me. I wish it was the right time to grab one but I've always believed that if it was meant to be it will work out. Enjoy your truck!!!

So let's assume that 2019 had similar production numbers to 2018 at 245,659 (although I'm sure they went up). Overall at 5% MT rate that would be 12,283 MT's made. Now applying that to the Pro's 5,000 made and then 250 are manuals which would be 83 of each when there were 3 color options and 63 when there are 4 color options. Even wild numbers I would be hard pressed to believe that there are over 500 MT Pro's made a year since the consumer base is niche.
