I am long past the point in my life where I can - or even want to, for that matter - extol the virtues, benefits and praises of that vaunted, yearned for and most often mythical extra inch that those of us gifted with testosterone tend to go on and on about.

But, I may stand to be corrected

After searching hither and yon, over hill and dale and through every auto parts supplier near and far, on both sides of the 49th parallel, at long last I held in my hands the replacement bolts - with the vital extra 2.5 cm - for the seats in the Taco. A (very) little creativity with washers, nuts and a spot welder, voila, the front seats are angled just a tad forward by virtue of the back mounts being an inch higher.

I gotta say...that extra inch really does make a difference; it feels like a whole new seat. And after driving it for an hour, that bit of nagging back pain that I usually have - courtesy of an unskilled and ill-timed act of professional bravado in my foolhardy youth - was notably lessened.

If you're on the fence about raising the back of the seat, I'd recommend it. And an inch DOES matter

Maybe those angry ex-girlfriends were right.

Mounted some cheap blazer led lights to my VooDoo racks. Sorta bummed, 3/4 of the way through I realized the box and package was missing a light pod. Ordered a 12 pack on Amazon for some cheap rock lights.

Installed Rigid fog light kit. Going to line up the lights tonight once it gets dark. I'm liking the look!

Picked up my Cooper St Maxx 255/85/16s today. They look amazing compared to the stock tires.

What was your reasoning to go narrower and taller than OEM tires?

Fitting a 33 without rubbing on stock suspension. No need for chopping anything. I get 2" of clearance without even getting a lift kit.

Lots of blogs and research that says taller skinnier tires are more effective in a lot of off road conditions due to vehicles weight being distributed over smaller footprint. Exerts more force per square inch. Less rolling resistance than wider tire so better MPG and lighter as well.

Supposedly when you air down the majority of your grip isn't from it spreading out (the spread is minimal) but from the tire grabbing more as it rolls towards the surface. Skinner taller tire takes more advantage of this. A fat tire spreads the weight of the vehicle out more so it doesn't grip as hard.

On Veteran's Day, I took my 14 year old son out in my 3rd Generation Tacoma, to play golf with my dad, who is a Veteran of the Marine Corps. As it was one day after the Marine Corps Birthday, it was only fitting that we took him to lunch too. It was a great day out, no school for my son, clear skies and 62 degrees in the second week of November and the 3 generations of us trying to show the world we actually know how to play golf! It was a great day. Thanks to all of the veterans! Bill in MA

OME lift w/ SPC's Method 701's w/Toyo at2 265/70r17 Prinsu rack CBI skids and sliders SSO slimline bull bumper Smittybuilt 9500 winch. Swing out tool boxes
    Leitner bed rack and boxes.
    Coolest service truck EVER!
Tools and parts in the cubbies.
Emergency gear in the swing out boxes ( they don't swing out anymore and I have to take them out to open them) and @CaliRaised molle system for the big stuff up front and spare room on the sides for more.
Had to drill and tap the rack to mount the molle because it covers the bed rails.
Over all it wasnt too hard frankensteining it all together.
    I'm happy!

I am with ya....I plan to upgrade as well; it is just such an RPITA to order something online from south of the 49th, between that artificially high exchange rate and the ridiculously low duty free limits...sigh....:canada:I will have to wait until spring when I am gonna be down there for a week or so and have them sent to my Washington addy.

The Beta version will get my wimpy old spine through the winter o_O

Sorry to hear that Everett! You are right though, treasure every minute because you cannot rewind time. Make as many great memories as you can, because it might be all we have in the end . If you have God in your life, you will never be alone. I wish you well!! :)
