I’m looking at this kit as well. Any insight on the weight of a canopy? I’m thinking maybe the heavy springs would be a good idea for me as I would like to add a roof rack as well. Also are upper control arms needed ? I am going to try and get 2” lift and run 33”s. Off-roading for me will be gravel roads during hunting season I just want a smooth ride on road.

6112 is front. Canopy won’t matter. There are a lot of threads about specifically rear suspension you should check out.

As far as UCAs, I would. I’m at 1.25” lift now and it’s a little twitchy compared to stock. I didn’t really put much effort into the alignment, I just let the dealership get it straightened out when I was in for service. So it could probably be better. I was planning to go up to 2 “ later anyway so I’m just going to do the high caster JBA UCAs and get it dialed in better when I do that.

If you are not set on 33s and don't plan on a lot of off road still wanting a stock ride my set up is 265 70 17s BFGs KO2 on stock sport rims. No lift no rubs no felt loss in power ride is close to stock
But a 2 inch lift will look great

I am about to get a set of 6112s for my 2020 ddouble cab, short bed truck. I want no more then 2" in the front. What clip position will give me right at 2"?

Just installed some new 6112s and 5160s with 285/70/r17 Falken Wildpeaks. I need a leaf pack in the rear since I am sagging. I'll take pics soon. I'm on the top setting on the front shocks. Very responsive. No complaints here. Got a total od 2.63" of lift. Once it settles it should stay around 2.5".

Did you do any offroading on 5/4 and 6/5? Any difference on off road quality? I can't decide between 5/4 or 6/5

Haven’t done any off roading with 6/5 clip. Haven’t had time but I’m on vacation the rest of the year and will try to head out and report back

I run mine on top notch. Recently switched to 35s too. I can feel it being a little stiffer but I don’t mind it at all. I off-road a lot too and wanted as much clearance as I could get from them E0BB5218-2F3C-42D3-B0FC-FA1163127118.jpg

How do you like your new set up compared to the stock OR suspension? What are the key differences?

Night and day brother. Absolutely love it. This pic was when I added the leaf pack and it leveled me out. I went with the Icon rxt leaf pack - Option 1 (comes with extra leafs). Now I can take dips or bumps and when the rear goes over them I dont drop like I did before or hit hard. I havent gone off roading or done any camping yet which is in the books for 2020 hopefully. No regrets here. For what I do it fits my needs. Instead of paying $3-4k just for a King, Icon or whatever suspension and never using it to its fullest potential, I saved a lot of money and still got something that isn't entry level trash. The extra money I saved got me my UCA, wheels, tires and leaf pack. Couldnt be happier with the ride over the stock crap Bilsteins Toyota installs in our Tacomas. The rear resis are visible I was just crouched low.

    Awesome!
can you expand more on the ride quality difference between now and stock?

I’m looking to soften the ride of my 2020 sport. I do want to keep the on road handling, I’m just looking make it easier on my back when I go very small bumps. Dunno if to go either the 6112/5160 or to go with a progressive shock.

Progressive will definitely be a softer ride but IMO more like driving a boat then the digressive shocks. Sounds like digressive will handle better on road and be softer at higher speeds off road.

Not trying to hack but I’m looking to go with 6112/5160 set up as well but not sure if id regret not spending a few hundred more and getting Icons stage 1. Anyone have any feedback on if the icons would perform that much better?
