I like Hidden winch set-ups, had the US Offroad version on my old Tacoma. This one looks even more OEM/cleaner. Question tho, in the picture it looks like the light bar is behind the steel bar of the bumper?

The lightbar is bit hidden from what I call a towel rack. I have more than enough light than I need when on with this CaliRaised 30 inch LED. The 3 Gen winch has a light bar as well as the control box and the controller has a LED in the handle, so plenty of light available for anything I need to do.

By using a covering over the license plate, it protects you from nefarious actors

What in the world can be done with a license plate number?

Find the name and address of the owner, that's about it.
BUT... on the internet with a name and address a person can find everything about someone except their SSN, for $4.95. I pay $9.95 a month for that service for genealogy research. Who's my daddy? Lol

So how do you protect yourself when you drive your car on a daily basis? Do you cover your license plate then as well?

Zero chance you can get that info unless your work for a governmental agency or you are a police officer. Even then its difficult and tracked.

I'm not here to argue, if you say it's true it must be true.

I think some of what you have touched on is true, only to add that a wood-be-hacker only needs a small tidbit of information if they really wanted to do anyone harm, agree your information is everywhere, it lives in a digital domain made by man, called the Cyber Domain. How do you think those nefarious actors get there information? The comb the web looking for open unsecured information to build upon, think about identity theft. So putting information on open forums such as these using a license plate, you can find out all all kinds of things. Not only do you have to protect or lessen your exposure there, thieves are lurking about as well just waiting for an opportunity. By covering the plate I minimize my attack surface to these types of folks.

Actually it's not difficult and not really tracked. There's an audit trail but it's meaningless. I run 100 plates a day "randomly" looking for stolen cars, warrants, suspended licsnses, etc. 100 a day x 23 years. No one has ever asked me why I ran a particular plate.

That said I think blocking your plate online is stupid and pointless.

Here's mine (pic was taken for info onthe relocated trailer plug, I don't just have random pics of my plate lying around)... do with it what you will, ye nefarious actors.

Now you've done it, I've figured out you live in Euruka. Oh wait, no I didn't, it states that right under your name. Lol

You can find out anything about anyone online, except a SSN. I figured out who my biological family is and I found may half sister. I also found her 7 children's birth certificates, all born on the same day, all with different last names, but I'm sure they're all legit. If it's online then it must be true. Lol

Could we get some more info (and pictures) on this setup and how you installed it?

I documented the entire install. Wrote a Bullet Background Paper on the install and sent it to HWMS as well as a thank you to them for building the mount. I recently traded the 2013 truck in, it had 81K on it for a 2020 Magnetic Gray TRD Pro (New) and started to make simple modes to it already.
