    @SpikerEng can give the definitive answer but I believe his website deals with this and says yes you can still raise the hood higher with ditch lights installed. I do have the ditch lights so I am curious to get the 100% answer from him

    Oh this isn't on them at all - it's a curiosity. Last C&C's have had hoods up on several Tacos, with and without lift assist - some already hit with the hood arm only! I'd never thought of it until a few weeks ago. There are many brackets. I don't think anyone can give 100% with the variety of brackets and lamps you could hang on them.
    I mean, even the tubes are not going to have the torque to break glass or anything. Just would drive me crazy if I had that issue!

    Except the past couple years, where Austin kinda dips its tip in winter but never commits.

    Check out their link above. Here’s the deal with opening position. You get to set it wherever you desire when you do the install. I think that answers the question pretty much.

    Thanks for the shout-out Robert, and you are absolutely correct - the Spiker kits give you the ability to set your hood height anywhere between stock height and up to 8" higher (on the 2nd Gen Tacos). You can set it at stock, you can set it at max, or you can set it as high as you can reach or to where ditch lights etc may interfere. Freedom of choice is great, isn't it?

    Here is a photo of a 2nd Gen Taco with ditch lights and the Spiker kit - he set his height to be just below where the ditch lights would hit the windshield.

    Here is a 1st Gen with ditch lights, he was able to set it max height without issues:

    Beauty, eh? I could set these so high I will need a pull cord! Cool, and well done!
    (I don't have ditch lights, just got to wondering....)

    :rofl::rofl:
    I believe it. Retired and shrinking. I can just grab the hood latch now with a mild lift!
    Would your source have anything to do with Eaton/National Water Lift? I worked as a student subcontractor for the AV-8B hydraulics system before I left Kalamazoo. They did a lot of different things.

    I’m definitely in on the group buy. Hopefully we can get 9 others. Sounds like Josh @Beretta4x4 might be interested. If you jump on it Kurt @Oldie2007 then we only need 7 more!

    I did redline on mine about six months ago, I wasn’t tall enough to get the hood prop up with the new bumper. DO IT!

    You guys get it to nine, and I will be 10. I have some. But I'm going to invent a pull cord for shrinking old people!

    Me too! Especially in the all glass and aluminum roof sunroom! It's not here yet, but looking like later in the evening!
