I don't get how he got only a year of no license with his overall history. Does your state have a limited lookback on OUI?

The fuel economy of a Rolls-Royce makes my Tacoma look like a Prius...

9-12 MPG on good day; Maybe 15 or more on the highway if you’re lucky, and or course premium fuel is required!

The low tomorrow is supposed to be record breaking at 15 degrees. That old furnace still works, likes to occasionally buzz and clunk, once I fix the hallway floor I will get it replaced.

Sounds like the heater in my Tacoma...

Noisy, but so warm it’s capable of popping a bag of popcorn!

I would like to think a new furnace and AC will be more efficient at keeping the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

I would say the heat in my truck is very efficient, just noisy...

Also, a 90%+ efficiency furnace is more important than a high efficiency air-conditioner in my opinion. If you keep the thermostat between 68 and 75 in the summer and keep the air-conditioner maintained, then it is possible to keep an air-conditioner running for 15+ years without getting murdered on your electric bill.

    Not that I’m aware of...

I believe a 3rd DUI in a certain amount of time is a felony in Pennsylvania. A third DUI in less than a decade will result in revocation of driver’s license for like five years, and then the person must get a learner’s permit, take all the tests again, and have one of those breathalyzer interlocks for a year.

Also, the prick who hit my truck had a Florida license. Luckily, Florida has reciprocity with Pennsylvania. Yes, he did kill somebody while driving drunk, but that was over 25 years before he hit my truck. All the prosecutor could do was prevent him from utilizing Pennsylvania’s accelerated rehab program to avoid a license suspension altogether. Also, a first DUI ever or a first DUI altogether with BAC over .10 generally does not result in more than a 6-month license suspension in Pennsylvania. The old fart’s sentence was effectively doubled because of his past conviction.

I know a guy with a Pennsylvania license who got a DUI in New Jersey. He did not lose his Pennsylvania license, but he was forbidden from driving in New Jersey for like six months or a year.

And I still firmly believe that DUI checkpoints are unconstitutional. My uncle who has been a cop for almost 30 years also believes they are unconstitutional. Like so many other things in this country instituted under the guise of “keeping us safe”, the number of innocent motorists inconvenienced and pissed off by DUI checkpoints far outweighs the number of drunk/high drivers taken off the road.

My dad bought my Taco new on September 30th, 2009 with 20 miles on the clock. According to my Facebook feed, this photo was taken on November 12th, 2009...

    AB6A8FA6-87FA-485B-A040-5B362E9309DD.jpg

This means that it took almost a month and a half to crack a thousand miles!

Now, I’m less than 230 miles from hitting
    107K!

School buses really piss me off sometimes...

One reason for this is an antiquated law that requires all school buses to stop at railroad crossings. In rural areas where there may be no gates and lights, I can understand this.

In suburban and urban areas, this can really have a negative effect on traffic. For example, there is a train track next to the building where I work. I always make a right out of the complex to go home. When a bus stops in the right lane, everyone behind the bus generally gets stuck there because nobody in the left lane wants to let them in front of them. This obviously results in a long line of cars that holds things up for several minutes.

Pennsylvania really needs to change this law in accordance with modern times!

I like mine at 68 year round, though we keep it at 70 or above downstairs when we are sleeping (parents’ house has 2-zone central A/C; One for upstairs and one for downstairs).
