Dropped a couple of mine in there too. Would have never known about it if you didn't post it here, as I never venture to the home page.

I'm down for shooting some other rigs. Just picked up a new camera and I'm dusting off the photography cobwebs.

Hey all! I've been creepin in this thread since I got my Taco years ago and I'm finally ready to join this nonsense. I need some local opinions.

Since I broke my addiction to upgrades when I had my Jeeps and bought a house, I've kept my Tacoma mostly stock. I'm trying to convince a buddy that he needs to take his also mostly stock JL to Kansas Rocks or SMORR and I'd like to know how much time we can spend there with mostly stock rigs. I have 10+ years of offroad driving experience and he drives a concrete truck for a living so we're both better than average drivers off road. However, he's a big puss-puss when it comes to challenging himself. Would it be a waste of time to visit either place for two days if he wants to stick to milder trails?

Thanks! We're not entirely stock, but both of our rigs are DDs and upgraded accordingly. We do a week or so out in CO every year, so I consider ours stockish by comparison to others we usually meet. I just found out about KsRocks and SMORR from some RZR people because I've always assumed that there wasn't anything within 5 hours of here.

Considering some past experience, I think you could spend a few hours at Kansas Rocks without any issues. Our Tacoma is pretty much stock minus a lift, and we have taken it out stock before. The trails are tight, but we've gotten our double cab long bed through. If you go on the easier trails when dry, there isn't too much to worry about if you know what you're doing. We're pretty new to off-roading, @Slashaar is pretty good for how many times we've been out, but I only know reaaaaally rudimentary stuff, and we haven't really damaged anything there except for a tiny dent in the front bumper and Josh put a little dent in the fender trying to get a branch out of our brush guard by driving forwards and backwards :facepalm:Like I said though, as long as conditions are dry, most of the beginner and intermediate paths are really easy imo. You can always ask the dudes at the front where the tight squeezes are; they're really nice. As far as SMORR goes, we haven't been yet. Just make sure you have recovery gear in case.

I haven't been to those places yet so I can't offer thoughts.

I'm fairly stock save for new tires. I'm ready to try them though.

I'll contact them, for sure. We're set on recovery gear and have had plenty of practice using it lol

I think it'd be cool to get a group together if it ever dries out. Most of my recovery experienes are due to wet/ muddy conditions and I prefer to avoid the mud if I can.
