This is after perfecting it. LOTS of dry runs and trimming but it looks stock and I'm happy with it.20190927_211147.jpg 20190927_204550.jpg 20190927_211251.jpg 20190925_195733.jpg 20190925_195719.jpg

Also if your a prerunner and wanting to have your cluster lights work, there are no pins in the harness at the cluster. Meaning you physically have to find 2 tiny pins and put them in the cluster harness and run your own wires.

I had refrained from posting anything about my experience with RST but seeing others having similar issues swayed me to add my bit.

I called and talked to Wyatt on April 18th about an ADD switch and he agreed to put one together for me. He asked for an email with the vehicle specifics and I sent one later that afternoon. I paid $177.xx immediately and on the 19th he replied that he was working on it. May 7th I sent an email and called and got no reply. May 21st I sent an email and called and got no reply. I called twice between those dates and left voice messages and never got a reply via email, call, or text. On or about 28th I called and left a message for a refund. The first week of June I ended up disputing the charges and got my money back.

This is the only reply I ever received.

Needless to say, I won’t be doing business with RST in the future.

$177 for a $20 switch and some wire lol. Yeah he deleted all my posts and took down his forum once it was public knowledge how to wire the switch. I wonder if he included a bottle of assembly lube with the ADD switch kit

Yep, for a few bucks more I could just get the rest of the FJ parts and delete it all together. At the time, I was hoping to save some time and energy rushing to get the FJ case installed. Plans changed, things didn’t work out at all with anything. Live and learn, I suppose.

I'm making my own harness now. 1 and 2 for power and ground, 4, 5 ,6 are limit switches and those go to an led. Sound about right?

I'm curious if anyone who has done an FJ case swap on a 3rd gen 6sp manual trans tacoma can confirm the number of splines on the input shaft or has a top down picture. I'm pretty sure it's the same 22 spline pattern on the RC62F trans (3rd gen) as the RA60F (2nd gen).

I bet it’s the same. Bet the stock 3rd tcase is exactly the same as the 2nd gen stock case.
I really want to know why marlin says it’s a 19 spline. Would like to hear why they can’t count.

I recall reading somewhere here on TW that the housing on the stock third GEN transmission had to be modified in order to fit a manual shift FJ case.

I am pretty confident it is too but it would be nice to confirm definitively it's the same. The stupidest part about that is BigMike actually has pictures on his forum of his input shaft from that 3rd gen tcase out of a manual sitting on his workbench in the same post that he talks about swappin inputs and it being 19. Like seriously dude it's right there in front of you. Look down at the part sitting in front of your face and count them and stop putting incorrect information out there. You dont even have a valid excuse that you dont have one available.

Yes, I saw that thread. It's a bit more work on the 3rds. You have to cut the shift rail AND grind down the inside of the trans bell housing.

It seems we both are constantly on the marlin hate train. I mean they make good products but never have them and has some sort of obsessive hate against the 6spd. Also, won’t admit when they are wrong when people prove it.

Yeah I hate to be such a debbie downer and beat a dead horse with them. They are obviously very smart, innovative people with amazing skills as it relates to engineering and fabrication. But what good is all that with the lack of product availability for absolutely everything they make? Their inability to acknowledge that they are wrong when faced with empirical evidence makes them look pretty foolish. I honestly don't know how they are still in business, but at least they aren't ripping people off.

Every time I see an update to their long travel thread or LCA gussets it just irks me more, even though it has no bearing or impact on my life. Don't sit here and blow sunshine up my ass on the TacoBox thread about how the cost and time to develop the correct adapter plates and spline adapters for crawl boxes is holding up production while you're simultaneously posting about your new long travel setup and LCA gussets and the thousands of hours you've spent on that. Get your shit together. Figure out your supply chain. Fix your existing products. Deliver on your commitments. Rant over....for now.

Here is the diagram for wiring the ADD switch. This version uses the limit switch in the actuator to automatically cut power when it’s engaged/disengaged. So it’s not momentary. Just flip the switch and wait for the light to come on.
