Not sure if this was mentioned but I found out accidentally that if you push on the volume switch it not only mutes the volume but also brings up the input selection screen.

 

Yea, pressing the PWR-VOL knob turns on/off the audio system. When off, the screen goes to the "AUDIO" mode screen where you can select different audio sources - same as if you press the "AUDIO" button.

Related... if you press and hold the PWR-VOL knob for 3+ seconds, it'll restart the system, kinda like rebooting a computer.

I meant lightly touching the knob will temporarily just mute the speakers without turning off the radio.

 

I believe what you are describing is the audio system being turned on/off by the power knob push. The radio, aka head unit, doesn't get turned off, unless you shut off the truck.

 

I get it now, the button puts it into a standby mode and brings up the input selection.

To change the input I was hitting the mode button on the steering wheel multiple times to change inputs.

 

Pressing the AUDIO soft-touch button also brings up the source selection screen, without turning off the radio.

 

Just saw this and wish I had known. I have almost hit 5 cars because of this. I'm 6'2" and for me, the mirror completely covers a car at a 4 way stop coming from the right. Like, they are hidden and at every stop I have to look around the mirror to make sure no one is there.

 

This does not work for the 2018 OffRoad TRD. There is no adjustment other than the ball socket. The mirror will not go up and down and it's dangerous. It definitely covers the field of view.

 

It works on my lowly SR. LOL!

 

I just noticed that my 19 OR only had bed rails on the sides of the bed. The second gens also have a bed rail at the front of the bed. I had an extra set of rails (swapped out the second gen for unistrut) and the second gen front rail lines up perfectly with the third gen holes and bolts.

 

The mirror on my 2018 Sport is adjustable. I’m 6’5” and couldn’t see sh** until I found this trick.

 

Do you have the GoPro mount beside your mirror?

 

My mirror appears to be on a mounting rail. Looks like there is a locking set screw. This is based on a quick glance this AM . Will explore later.

Sure it does. It's the same mirror as the off-road and it works fine in mine. It's ball joint on both ends of the piece that connects the mirror to the windshield.

 

None of the 3rd gens come with the front bed rail unless they added it in 2020 (I didn't check the new stuff for that). It was one of the first things I bought when I got my 16 and I transferred it over to my 17.

 

I seen the dual ball joints.

 

What is the "slide" you speak of? All the adjusting (tilting, turning, raising, lowering) is done at the ball joints.
