i am still wanting to test these newish tires out on some 'light-to-moderate' mud, i know they get the job done in heavy wet as heck blizzard snow
but the 'lightish' mud they have not touched yet @ 18k miles

I've heard good stuff about Duratracs. And it's one of the lighter options in a "hybrid" type tire. Kinda AT, kinda MT......they are pricey though. I went Ridge Grapplers for the 285's
but going more aggressive on the move to 35's.....

i am amazed at how quiet they are on the freeway, which was important to me

    word on the pricey!
just hoping they last the miles before needing replaced because those hit my wallet hard :spending:
they may also be the cause of loosing 2 or possibly 3MPGs that i had going with the stock Wranglers

also another good place to go is tuttle creek its way better then k rocks in my opinion more actual rocks to play on and the trails are more open only down side is once you air down you have to either drive to the small town like 5mins away and hope the air station is working or drive 30 mins on 15 psi to Manhattan lol

Or there is always that idea of having On Board Air or a portable compressor...

I'm well versed in Jeeps and I was really impressed with my buddy's JL in CO this year. It would blow a similar YJ out of the water even as close to stock as his JL is. I've had two XJs, a TJ, a YJ, and a lifted Subaru Outback all with various lifts, lockers, dodads and miles aplenty. I swore off excessive offroad- centric mods for my Taco because of time and location constraints. Just looking for places to wheel that don't require a 3+ day weekend to travel to.

Awesome! I'll check out Tuttle creek. And no worries about airing up. I have on board air as it is one of my basic must-haves when I start upgrading a new vehicle.
