I decided to order the 275's in Falken Wildpeaks C-load. its only a .5in smaller diameter, and .5 in width difference than the 285's but i figure I can probably avoid any potential CMC needs for now, minimize the potential headaches for now and a slightly skinnier tire i think should do better in snow. Im only at 60k miles on the truck so I figure id give these a shot, if I like them and want to get more aggressive with next time around I can as I get closer to 100k.
Another reason i did the wildpeaks cause they were one of the few 275s in c-load offered on DTD, if I wanted to do the Ko2s id have to go e-load which im thinikin is overkill for me at the moment with the amt of highway driving I do.
There was an additional 3/32s of tread depth on the wildpeaks, that surely translates to longer life of the tire right?!?

Picked up my SOS Offroad Concepts bolt on sliders today, just in time for the cold weather to set in. Gonna have to get a little creative I guess on getting them painted since I don't have heat in the garage.

 

So many more flowers yet to be delivered! Anyone in LA have a need for flowers. I have $75,000 worth that I’m trying to keep from going in the trash

 

i used a propane heater when i painted my sliders, seemed to work pretty well. similar to this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Dyna-Glo-Pro-30K-60K-BTU-Propane-Forced-Air-Heater-RMC-FA60DGP/202223041

 

Had thought about this option. Just not sure how thrilled I am about using an open flame heater in the garage with a bunch of spray paint fumes. It's a pretty small one car garage.
I'm thinking I could hang them in the garage, spray them, let them sit for 10-15 minutes and then carry them into the basement to dry. If I use some eye bolts and rope, I should be able to carry them without touching them. Might take a few extra days to get them done, but they aren't something I have to get installed asap.

 

What you could do, is get the space up to a good temp and then shut off the heater. Prime, then restart the heater after the fumes have settled with an open door or window. Then finish paint after you shut off the heater, let the paint set, restart the heater.

 

Or move south.

It’ll be warm enough to paint outside within a few days.

thats exactly what i did, worked great. with the 60,000 btu heater, only took about 15-20 minutes to get the 3-car garage up to like 75 degrees (20s outside). also just to cover my own ass, be aware of the symptoms of CO2 poisoning: https://www.ccohs.ca/oshanswers/safety_haz/forklift/propane.html
i had no such symptoms.

 

Got around to blacking out the grille today. Hopefully getting sliders primed and bed lined friday

Got everything finally bent and tacked in with some tube disconnects, tomorrow i get to weld it out and start making tabs for everything.
