    Hey crash,

Just been reading through this tread and not sure if it’s been mentioned but the awesome de-icing power of the rigid’s doesn’t work when you put a cover over them. I went for my first drive in heavy snowfall with the amber covers over my D-SS ditch light and basically lost all output within a mile of the house. Left the lights on the see if they could melt the build up on the cover but it wasn’t possible. Removed the cover and had no issues with snow after that.

Covers works great in rainfall but not so much the snow.

Covers definitely won't work in snow. If you use the selective yellow pods, the yellow lenses will get very hot and de-ice while providing less filtration losses than a snap on cover for higher output.

Guess I will have to send ours back to them. Over 10 sets I have waiting for customers builds.

So am I missing something, does RD not have Selective Yellow under their D-Series? Or was the selective yellow a pre-production for the new 360-series? Or I’m blind, can’t find the option in their site.

Personally like the square design, but don’t like the idea of covers for the lights if possible since I’ll be running them primarily as fogs.

I tested them prior to release, but they are now a part of the standard SAE product line.

Any word on mounts for the 360s? Holding off on purchasing to see if they will sell as a kit (maybe even with proper connectors).

With two morning drives, one in moderate fog and the other in rainy conditions, I can say that my eyes can pick up the Rigid selective yellow quite a bit better than the amber of the KC G4. I'm not sure if it has to do with the overall intensity or not, but in my eyes I much prefer the selective yellow.

So updated optics? Guess time to wait then. Still love the looks of them, looking forward to getting a set of Xl80s or Lp4s eventually.

I’m very interested to see how the improved optics perform but I’m gonna keep my expectations in check. Just hoping they don’t throw on a dark filter to kill all the output in order to bring it into SAE spec...

I am very pleased with these D series Rigid fogs. These things are 100 times more intense than OE lighting.

This is just the fogs on by themselves. Yes, you can run them upside down and the light still has the same cutoff as it would right side up.

BD will probably copy Rigid's patented Clarilux optic system design. its just too damn good!

or maybe they'll just put cut-off shields like projector headlights hahaha

At this point time will tell. Hoping BD will do it right this time.

I have a hard time seeing it being an overwhelmingly impressive solution if they whipped it up in a few weeks and it will be user installable but we’ll just have to wait and see.
