BUYER BEWARE: 3rd Gen Tacoma Heads-Up Display (HUD)

I’m thinking it will probably be around $200. However, it depends on the final costs of the mold since that is the most expensive piece of the puzzle. To make it OEM which is the most important part to me with most of my mods. I’m not big with mods that take away from the natural look of the truck lines. Hence why this is one of my big things that I am stoked about sharing with everyone and I truly think will be a HUGE HIT!!! I will work with the price as much as possible. I’m not about raising the price so people can’t afford it but I also need to cover my cost and make a little for all my efforts. I’d like all your feedback too as you guys are buying it from me potentially too. So I’m game for feedback. Realistic feedback obviously would be appreciated.

 

So it looks like this plugs into the OBD port. But did I spy a male and a female adapter in the video? So perhaps a splitter so we could leave a BT OBD module installed?

Have you tried the Camry part loosely fitted in the truck? One concern is the OBD2 update can be pretty slow in some vehicles, so much the speedometer and tach become useless.

 

It will be mounted in the dash panel that is located in upper left corner.

The panel will also COLOR MATCH our OEM DASH!!!!

 

Edit Answer. I think you can. However, let me verify just in case. I do not want to give out false information. I know I have seen it on some but I actually just watched the video just now and didn’t see it so I’m going to ask.

 

Do you have the same panel as the 3rd Gen? If not, this could be something maybe after I get the 3rd Gen going and see how it works out. If this works for both that would be extremely ideal and amazing for once!!!

 

Is that the built in or just the on the top of the dash version. On the top of the dash versions are cheaper

Does the HUD sit on top of the tweeter speaker?
I know the stock tweeters are basically non-existant, but for use with upgraded tweeters, would it interfere with it?

Thank you for posting these. This will help for sure. I was doing some research last night as well. I’ve seen between $150-$200. I’ve been talking with my vendor and all of the pricing on molds should be in today for the upcoming mods. I will also be creating a new thread today/tonight on maybe 1 or 2 more New Releases coming out soon!!!

 

That's good, just looking to determine the difficulty, my truck is a lease so I'm looking not to cause too much fuck ups.
