21” is the stock measurement IIRC. Aren’t Kings made to go 2.5” lift? So, 23.5” should be okay?!

From what I have read, basically exactly what I got.

3-3.5° positive caster (maybe more for a big lift?)
    0 toe
    0 camber

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong

What leaf pack do you recommend to run with these kings? I currently have the Dakars and its way to stiff and to much lift for these kings

You could probably remove a leaf from your current pack, and it would A) lower the rear and B) won't be as rough when you are unloaded.

Hey I'm new to King and I'm having mine installed next week on a 3rd gen 4x4 Offroad Access Cab with full ARB armour. The armor adds 80lbs but I only weigh 130lbs .. 70lbs less than the average American so I figure I'm only really adding 10lbs over stock ;)

also .. 650s, ToyTech add-a-leaf and Total Chaos UPC

Should I expect to dial in any preload?

Got another link to the FAQ?

My desired height is 2.5" to 3". But I heard the 2019 has already 1" (might be wrong here) and the Kings come with 2" already (so a total of 3" (?))... I'm thinking I don't need to adjust to achieve 3" lift.

I would bet you will need very little preload to get a "2 or so lift, but be aware the higher you are in the stroke of the shock, the rougher the ride and the more likely you will top out over bumps. Not to get preachy but make sure you get an alignment afterwards, it made all the difference in the ride for me.

And yeah you are the same weight as my dog, who in the bed barely compresses the stock leaf and big kings, so the armor pretty much doesn't count :oldglory::sandwich::dancingbacon:

Let us know how it rides!

Looks like I should put them on as shipped and make adjustments afterwards. Putting them on next week ( :)censored: eternity) and I'll post the results. :broccoli::hungry::muscleflexing:

    Question for the group.

Just finished my install a few days ago on my 2018 TRD OR - 2.5 Resis front and rear (no adjusters), medium Dakars, SPC UCAs, and CB drop. After a few days of settling and driving for maybe 5-10 miles, my fronts are pretty rough going over speed bumps. I think the roughness (and accompanying thud) is on the rebound. My front measurements from middle of bolt to top hat is around 21.5" left and right (I cranked the LF coilover 8 additional threads from the factory and the RF 7 additional threads from the factory). My tires/wheels have not changed (yet). I've read the accutune posts saying you should not exceed 21", so I am considering reducing preload of two-three threads on each side.

So the question is: Should I try and remove some of the preload (and potentially pull out the third leaf from the Dakar, so I'm not too a** high - already 1" higher in the rear) before doing an alignment? Or do the alignment first and see how it rides? I am going in for an alignment on Thursday morning and I don't want to have to go to the alignment shop twice. Would pulling a leaf and reducing preload throw an alignment out of whack?

    Thanks in advance.

Either way we would suggest lowering those from coilovers to be closer to 21" eye to top hat. The "thud" could be other things besides the shocks. Dakars tend to ride stiff since they are made to carry heavy weight. You could remove the third leaf down to help soften up the ride, but wont make a massive difference.

    Thanks for the quick feedback.

I removed two threads of pre load on each side and it helped soften it up a bit and brought me down to right around 21" from middle of bolt to top hat. I decided to take out one more thread of preload out and will report back on numbers after I get a chance to test drive again. Adjusting the coilovers on the truck proved to be a lot easier than I expected...

@AccuTune Offroad For the once a month weekend warriors like me. At what intervals do you guys see as a good point to service shocks?

Around 50k miles or so they should probably be gone through. However, if they are leaking or have signs of wear, it may be sooner.

Appreciate the response! I’m sitting about another 25k from that point as a solid guideline. It’ll give me some time to secure a set of temp coilovers and rear smoothies to roll on. Also time to get a feel for what works and doesn’t with regard to valving
