That happened to me my first trip with my new STMaxx...blew a sidewall on a remote trail. Luckily had a spare but it was a 32 and my Stmaxx were 33s. Put it up front and made sure the rears matched at least, but was a wonky 300 mile drive home lol. Got a matching spare as soon as I could when I got back.

2019-11-12 16.17.43.jpg I took the 2002 to Toytec to fix it over something that I could have prevented had I not been a nice guy or one can say not smart guy. I bought new OEM Toyota Billsteins and had a family friend install them. He had called and needed money/work. He was the best pro mechanic I knew till the drug problem. Long story short, the truck was riding with no shock bushings or washers and it started to get worse and the new shocks are toast. It's amazing these trucks run with whatever is wrong. Here it is getting done up at Toytec in Denver. So I don't have to worry. It really sucks to have to buy the stuff again. On the bright side, 5100s on OME 880s ride way better. I need to install lower control arms and inner tie rods to get it brand new. For now, It's running pretty good. ALL GOOD!!!!!

Crazy hearing these ST MAXX sidewall failures. I have multiple gouges in mine and no failures so far... *KNOCKS ON WOOD*

It was only once luckily....I rounded it on a sharp rock so I think it would have happened to any tire tbh. In over a year and several trips since I haven't had any issues with them, in fact other than that one incident they're my favourite tires so far.

i was quoted today by a non-Toyota dealer tire and do it all shop that replacing front suspension on my Tacoma could run me over $3k for all of it, they won't know until i bring it in and take a gander
that seems high (but i really have no clue) ... is that what a pro-Tech job is outside of Toyota certified mechanic shop
