Just got denied by the wife for a cheaper option, but wanted to see people's opinions anyway. With a set up like this and hypothetically speaking of I decide to stay at factory height or maybe just at a 1" lift, would I be needing anything extra, such as a new set of UCAs, etc.?

Unless those are extended travel (and you want to take full advantage), I don't believe you'd need anything additional if you're sticking to stock ride height.

How would one know if they are the extended travels or not? Also, would adjusting it to give a 1" lift require new UCAs for proper alignment? Also, would running it at factory height hurt the set up any, such as accelerated wear?

I'm sorry y'all, I'm super new to all this

Do you have these in hand already? I thought you were looking to buy. Without measuring I'm not sure if there are any distinguishing features of the extended travel coils vs non. Though I'm sure someone else on here could probably just tell by looking haha.

Most people suggest aftermarket UCA's if going above a 2" lift, so stock should be fine at 1".

The only difference running factory height is that I believe you won't be pre-loading the coils and will get a softer ride.

Really the best advice I can give would be to contact @HeadStrong Off-Road . They have helped dozens and dozens of people on here get the right set up.

That's mainly what I'm looking for is to further soften the ride. Maybe some light off roading. Otherwise, it'll remain at or near factory height, while also keeping the factory tires size, maybe 265-75-16 at most

Soften the ride vs stock? That I'm not 100% sure about. I'm pretty sure these will be stiffer even set at 0 lift.

If they are extended travel you have to get UCA's whether you leave them at stock height or not. Its not the travel that is the issue, It is the stock UCA's making contact with the coils at full droop. Seen people make this mistake before.

Darn, and yes I was told they are the extended travel ones. Okay, so it looks like UCAs are required anyway. Are there any perks to the extended travel versions over the regular fox 2.5 ones?

I think it is worth it to go with the extended travel if you ever want to get anywhere close to 2 inches of lift but if you only want a stock height ride then no there is not much of an advantage that I know of. I think the standard travel can be rebuilt to be extended travel but at that point just buy some SPC UCA's and go extended to start out

Great point. So technically speaking, as of right now, if I were to purchase this set and keep it at factory height, I'd still need to get some UCAs anyway. Also, any recommendations for some UCAs that'll work with this set up? Something good enough for just stock height, maybe 1" height up front at most.

Now as far as the rears go, anything extra needed if staying mostly stock height?

SPC Light Racing UCA's are a crowd favorite & No I don't think so but I would watch my rear brake lines. Maybe someone else can chime in on that aspect. I extended mine but I lifted there rear of my truck 1.5-2”

The extended travel ones have 1" more downtravel, which is useful offroad - especially if you're lifted.

I have the same setup without reservoirs up front and love them, but do wish I had gotten extended travel for better downtravel. I ended up getting JBA UCAs anyways after lifting to get a better alignment, and the extended ones are the same cost.

Did you, by any chance, install them yourself? I've done a full install on a 1st Gen Tacoma for fronts and rears, but have never done an upper control arms install. Was it difficult at all? How much would be a fair price to have them installed by a reputable shop?

I did it myself. I have no idea what a shop would cost where you are, it varies by state. Installation was easy for coilovers, it took less than an afternoon on the weekend including adjusting preload. I figure a 3 beer job, assuming a beer per hour. Adjusting the collars for your preload is definitely a good advantage of these struts, I spent a few days tweaking until I got the height where I wanted, then backed off preload about a year later to have more downtravel.

The UCA is a bit more of a hassle. You need an angle grinder and a replacement UCA mount bolt per side, because there's no real easy way to get the UCA bolt out. It goes back in real easy from the opposite direction, and is fine being backwards... No idea why Toyota puts it in from the factory the direction they do. It would have been an additional 2 hours if I knew that ahead of time, but it ended up taking all day because I had to lift it up, wheels off, coils out, then fuss with it, give up and chop it, then find a replacement bolt from a local shop.

I could easily do both in under 2 hours now in my garage with the tools I have. The bolt is a foot long but reasonably priced, I think it was around $15 per side. I'd be concerned if a shop wanted more than 3-4 hours labor.

If you're in GA or nearby, there's a mod weekend coming up in Dec. It would be easy to do then with the help of locals if you're unsure.
