    I've heard they've been really strict about no phones out during the show except for the last song, which I think is pretty cool but from what I've seen on social media it's pretty controversial among fans.

    Yes they play a recorded message prior to the show in a Darth Vader-esque voice stating that there is a no cell phone camera policy. I truly get it. The band wants people to be in the moment and less focused on recording. It is a sight to behold. I did want to capture some moments for my 48 year old brain. It is a detraction from the moment. I've had friends at the same show as I attended in the past who were very close to the stage and I was pretty far back. Both have pros/cons as far as enjoying the show.

    I haven't been super close to a stage in a very long time so sitting towards the back is ok when the visuals are as incredible as Tool pulls off. They had a curtain of long vertical strips which would encircle the stage in front of the band and the projections would be on the transparent strips but you could still see the performers behind it. It was hard to even tell when the curtain was moved into place and retracted. Pretty sure they do it when the stage is dark. I kept telling my friends this was happening and they didn't believe me. Finally at the end of the show they got my attention and noted the curtain was being retracted during a song.

    Saw them Tuesday night here in Cincinnati. I 100% approve of the no phones out policy.

    Nothing more annoying than a bunch of d-bags holding their phones up recording while you're trying to watch a badass show. Especially with the amazing video imagery that TOOL plays during the show.

    That being said, it was cool that they allowed it for one song at the end.

    I agree on the phone thing.

    I love that they have been swapping between Part Of Me and Intolerance. I'll be ok with either of those songs in Raleigh. Never seen them do either of those live. Can't wait.

    I will have a clear shot at one at the Atlanta show. I'm a member of toolarmy. The VIP ticket I bought this morning gets me in the door at 2:30 the day of the concert. Get first shot at signed merch, get a shirt and get to hear soundcheck.

    ....and apparently a buffet. Better be filet and lobster for $500.
