My apartment is so old, it has a slot in the medicine cabinet to dump your old safety razor blades.

 

I have never messed with a gas tank on a corolla, but have dropped a few on other cars. Type of thing you have to be able to put eyes on.
Are you gonna drop the tank yourself and check stuff out? You may be able to put eyes on stuff without dropping it with those inspection telescoping mirror things. Your borescope for inspecting inside the frame might come in handy for this as well

Well, our company is finally offering a 401k plan effective next month..just went to the meeting about it. But apparently the company contribution is optional and ours is opting to not contribute lol. Bastards

Still probably a good idea to do it though, tax sheltered savings at least.

 

Yeah, it would be worth contributing to.

There may be an inspection plate you can remove from under the seat or in the trunk that might help as well.

they told me that there is actual fuel dripping from somewhere that cannot be seen
i can smell it every now and then in the truck space

If it has the plastic quick disconnect it may be that. Or maybe the fuel return has dry rot and leaking.

401k contributions can reduce your yearly tax liability. If Uncle Sam takes it, he keeps it. Might as well save it for yourself.
