My wife and kiddo can't do spicy, so I have to use generic chili powder.

The last batch I made in our Instant Pot and it was done in 30 minutes. Came out pretty good. The thing is I've been adjusting my spices and learning to make it without beans. My next goal is to learn to use actual chilis.

I like that idea of beer in the cooler machine. Doc will be in touch soon please with physical therapy orders. Right now no weight at all, flex calf and thigh muscles while sitting

Glad to hear it went well, Maner. I feel for you being cooped up with  no beer!

But it won’t be long you’ll be right back to your Bubba mug and shop and better than ever

I still can't do it without beans. If I moved to Texas I would be run out.

My gramps taught me to make chili. I had to learn to dial it back on the heat over time. When it's spiced to my liking I end up with ring of fire that night. :bananadead:

This one is done in the Instant Pot also but in Slow Cooker mode. I haven't tried it in pressure mode yet. Been afraid to. lol

My cousin was stationed in TX in the AF and I went to visit them for a couple weeks a couple different times. We went to some place in San Antonio that supposed to have really good chili. I tried to order their 5 alarm and the person was like have you ever tried it before. They brought me a little sampler of it and the 4,3,2 alarm. I ended up having to go 3. That crap burned smelling it.

The only time I don't is if I'm making a Detroit style coney sauce. That's no bean and a real tight sauce. I use it on coney dogs, burgers, fries, tots.

It's easy cooking it on the Instant Pot. Fear not lol.

I have always used beans. I've been trying to develop a beanless recipe the last month. No reason other than for fun.
