If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Man, you're lucky it went away. Mine just kept getting bigger and progressively more painful over the years and it can also lead to other residual problems, if left unchecked.

Damn - that'd be brutal to get both feet at the same time, but that would be the best way to do it! My surgeon was right to recommend the full-plate fusion (Lapidus Bunionectomy) since it has the lowest chance of recurrence compared to other methods. My mom has had bunion surgery on both her feet, but they just shaved/pinned the big toe joint and now, less than 10 years later, they are both back with a vengeance.

2 weeks in a soft-splint, 2 weeks in a hard cast, then 4 weeks in a boot (which I get next Thursday and can start "light" weight-bearing and walking). On the plus side, all this sitting on my ass has allowed me to get some stuff done that I haven't had time for; like updating my "Build Thread" for the first time in over 5 years! :D

...and I got a pretty badass cast!

Sorry the punk had to die, but if you play stupid games you sometimes win stupid prizes.

I'm sure the others might think twice before doing it again though.

Oh wait, the three who weren't shot were charged with robbery and felony murder.

They'll have lots of time for thinking about it.

Neighbors Fed Up With Growing Pothole Fill It With Christmas Tree

ATLANTA (CBS Local) — A group of homeowners in Atlanta have placed a Christmas tree inside a gaping pothole on their street, hoping it would pressure local officials to do something about it.

“I can see down five or six feet of hollowed out area beneath there,” homeowner Peter West told CBS affiliate WGCL. “We’d love to have a new road.”

Decorated with lights and ornaments, neighbors placed the tree on Archwood Drive in Atlanta’s Northcrest subdivision earlier this week.

They even wrote their own lyrics to a festive song about the pothole and caroled around the massive eyesore:

O Archwood tree, o Archwood tree
    How lovely are thy branches
    Asphault expands in summertime
    Rebuilds potholes in wintertime
O Archwood tree, o Archwood tree
    How scary is that sinkhole

Homeowner Sharon Magruder said they wanted to get the county’s attention but still have a little fun in the process.

“Instead of being negative and screaming and stomping our feet and being ugly about it why not have fun with it and still get attention and get the job done so it’s not so dangerous for the neighborhood,” Magruder said.

Luckily, their plea for an early Christmas miracle did get some immediate, if not partial, results.

County crews later came out, replaced the tree with a barricade and caution tape and filled the hole until they can make more permanent repairs.

I don't get this part. The victim shot two dudes, but the perps were charged with murder? What am I missing?

"Gutierrez and Vargas were shot, the release says, and Gutierrez died from his injuries Tuesday. Vargas died on Thursday.

Richardson, Esquero and Gallardo were charged with robbery and felony murder."

usually something to the effect of if someone dies in the commission of a felony crime you can be charged with that since they were ultimately the cause of them getting shot.

basically. had the group not tried to rob the house they wouldnt have got shot by the homeowner. so in effect it was their fault. Some states would rule with the robbers...and the homeowner would be charged...
