if i angle the bumper to the front it would have to actualy stick out more then it does. this is because the winch must be so big and stick out so far so as not to be in the rad.

the winch plate is going to be supported from the underside with some 1/4 inch bar stock.

the shackle mounts i know are a little thin but i am in no way worried about there strength. the reason for this most of the shackle mounts are just welded to the face plate and have no actual support other than the face which in most bumpers is 1-8th mine is welded to the winch plate on the inside i am confident in this.

thanks for the constructive criticism it is always welcome and appriciated.

started today out by building my aux mount so that the winch wont rip off the bumper this is made from 1/4 and will be plated on the side.

and here is the bumper off the truck btw its a lot lighter than i thought i can easily lift it solo, i would say its as heavy as like a tube tv.

If you're interested, I can sell ya a set of cleaner CNC cut 3/16" steel braces that would work perfect with your setup.

would have been very interested before i fabed those. btw those welds are not even close what they will be when they are done, while not tack welds they are just there to hold it while i do weld it.

Have you had any problems with the bumper warp when welding?

i couldn't get the welder into that position very well do to the angle that why its only on the one side. trust me burnthrough has been a problem. penetration is not a problem haha.

any measurements that you want just let me know, ill be happy to take them. also idk if i will be able to weigh it. im thinking that maybe i can hold it and weigh myself with it and subtract my weight, but im worried that my combined weight with it will be to much for scale, anyone know about how much a scale will hold?

    Gotcha man, I understand. :)
I dont have too much of a problem with my 3/16 warping as long as I do stringer welds on the seams so the heat doesnt get too concentrated but 1/8" warps A LOT easier from my experience.
I also like to do the corners and usually do the structural welding on the inside of the bumper before doing the outside welds.

yeah the most welding i have been doing in one place is about 2 inches and welded all the plate corner joints first in like 1 inch so i dont think i will have any problems. the cooling noise that it makes when i really turn it up is unsettling.

ok im sorry the pictures have slowed down and the work on the bumper has slowed down. ill get some more tonight here is where it is at,

I think it looks very cool off the truck, the truck looks like crap. this is the last holes on the bumper being drilled, i have used flux core wire on this bumper reason for that is I am welding outside and its been windy so it will blow away my gas and with dirty metals, i got them from a scrap yard flux core works a little better.

here is a front shot of the bumper you can see a lot from this view, 1 you can see where im at on the grinding, mostly done a little more and were there, 2 you can see the winch installed in the back of it, with that little W of the warn sticking out of the top sexy.
