2nd gen people, Ford made a mercury switched hood light for decades, comes on whenever the hood is up. Power and and you're done. In the 80's and 90's GM had a cool underhood light with a magnet base on a reel, you can put the light right on the subject. Reel it in like a fishing pole, lol.
Personally I'll be using a Ford mercury switched light (or 2) with LED. It'll be bright and I could literally leave the hood up for days.

    Too many to list.
Basically you have the negative hooked up to ground..in my case the ground is in my aux fuse box. The positive is hooked up to the bottom of the switch pin. When you open the hood the switch pin make a connection with the positive (the switch is spring loaded) and when you close the hood, the pin disconnects from the power allowing the power to be off. Very simple to be honest.

Here's a short link to a video.. YouTube wouldn't let me upload it. I hope this helps.

Correct. No drone, just a tiny bit of rasp up higher in RPMS but In sub 3200 RPMs or so it sounds great and has character finally. If you find me on IG I can send you a vid of me revving

Do it! It isn't the kind of hardcore off-road picture that most here will drool over, but it is colorful and shows the truck being used to carry an un-ordinary load in a setting that most folks will never get to drive their Tacoma.

What about just adding a switch next to/in line with the hood switch?

probably took longer to paper/mask it off than it would have removing the grill.
